3. Bird note is added saying that the first person was citing a different stat
4. Second Person does breathless self-righteous thread about how the sacred "actually" is being abused against them.
it's all fun and games until you're the one getting "context added"
i like Bird Notes or Community Notes or whatever the fuck they're called.
"HELP HELP IM BEING UNJUSTLY BIRD-NOTED! ANONYMOUS BIRDS ARE NOTING ME! PLEASE WON'T SOMEONE RID ME OF THESE MALICIOUS BIRDS!!!!"
My favorite bird notes are the ones on random viral image tweets that are like "wow look at the sunrise this morning in beautiful Cincinnati #blessed#Cincy4Life" and the bird note will be like "this photo was taken on March 7th 2011 by NASA's Mars Rover" or some shit.
i can't get over thinking these screenshots proved your point
Person 1: The earth is warming
Person 2: Actually, Minnesota is colder than last year
Community Note: Person 1 was talking about the Earth, not Minnesota.
I don't know how to do a BIrd Note but someone should do a Bird Note on this Judd tweet.
"Judd Legum has actually only been on Twitter for 14 years and 9 months."
It would truly be very funny if there was a whole Bird Note task force dedicated to adding hyper-nitpicky Bird Notes to Judd Legum's tweets.
Bird note: "if this bill became law, which it won't, and courts allowed it to be enforced, which they wouldn't, and Judd Legum lived in Florida, which he doesn't, he probably would comply"
Bird note: "Judd Legum has the soft delicate hands of someone who would do anything and everything to avoid prison"
oh man this is totally unfair. Trampling my rights! i got suspended a few months ago because i called someone a toothless hunchback or something and apparently that is a hate crime against hunchbacks, now i can't do bird notes!!!!
ATTICA! ATTICA!
correction. it was actually "one-legged inbred whore" not "toothless huncback." i regret the error

Does anyone actually think that the psychic energy people spend on outraged, intense, morally-felt political social media arguments has improved political outcomes?
To put it another way, do you think you’re getting a good political return on your posting?
As far as I can tell social media has activated a zillion people politically on both sides and the net change is virtually 0 and the sweat and stress and acrimony that comes with such a dynamic has not actually helped anyone accomplish anything politically.
There are a million stats about how this stuff is bad for your mental health but even so it might be worth it if you think your sacrifice has given your agenda the upper hand, but I just see no evidence that anyone is getting anything for their money.
i havent watched this netflix documentary where an episode is apparently dedicated to this theory, but the Reddit thread on the series is hilariously mean reddit.com/r/MH370/commen…
Sarah Huckabee Sanders and people like her are, thankfully, a small minority of people in this country (though perhaps not in Arkansas) and this type of shit makes even me feel just filthy. Like, this is genuine anti-trans hateful shit. You go to hell for this shit.
Like this is genuinely just an unnecessarily cruel thing to say about people. Whenever i get sort of annoyed with various things about the the left with regard to the trans discourse, i then see things like this and am like...i'd be fucking defensive too!
i get that this plays in certain parts of the country and in republican primaries and stuff but I was dinging the left a few days ago about how their extreme positions can put off normies like me, and this shit? from the right? this shit a million times worse.
We spent a few years inundated with stories about how the west is in decline and liberal democracy can't win hearts & minds because authoritarian regimes are the hot new jazz, but it seems to me like those takes were pretty wrong and that the west is actually pretty good still
it's just amazing how people let Trump winning one election (by negative 1.5 million votes) and some far right people almost winning (but ultimately losing) a few elections in France and Germany convince them that the arc of history was bending in a different direction.
DeSantis loves to engage in idiotic culture war fights but this makes him sound like a pathetic small town yokel. Who cares if some dumb Serbian who plays the 7th most popular sport in america comes to our tournament? We're the USA. We went to the moon. cnn.com/2023/03/08/ten…
"oh no the unvaccinated serbian tennis champion can't come to one tournament! i better move heaven and. earth for him"
Bro, maybe loser countries like australia need to give a shit about this but we're the home of rock & roll and James Dean.
the only way this is a "principled stand for freedom" or whatever is if you believe that foreigners have a natural right to come into the united states as they please without restriction. I don't think that's Ron DeSantis's general immigration opinion.
