@MurderSmall Okay @Jimmypisfunny and @WhismanSucks, you assholes, this story was SO crazy I just spent the last 45 minutes listening to the podcast searching Tennessee property data and tax records to try and figure out what the HELL was up with that fence.
See this image for reference. 1/
@MurderSmall@Jimmypisfunny@WhismanSucks First, the large boxes:
- The red box is Kevin and Susan's property
- The orange box is Vida's property where she lived with Roy
- The blue box is 'the back field' Jerry also owned, which is probably where the family scraped out all their scrap food.
2/
@MurderSmall@Jimmypisfunny@WhismanSucks - The black box is the neighbor's property, who was (I assume) thankful not to have been involved in this craziness.
Theirs is, by far, the nicest house on the block. 3/
@MurderSmall@Jimmypisfunny@WhismanSucks Now this image (attached again) is from 2013, but the only difference from the state of the properties in 2009 is the green box, which is a new-in-2013 mobile home on the property that (I assume) was put there after the partially-burned murder house was torn down. 4/
Now, the fence. I am *pretty confident* that the fence that incited this incident was put up at the yellow line, between the properties. 5/
@MurderSmall@Jimmypisfunny@WhismanSucks On Kevin's property you can see the outline of his partially-completed driveway headed down to the main road, right near the property line.
Kevin's house is a real piece of shit by the way. He only improved it, didn't build it - it was built in 1956. Here's a photo - yikes. 6/
Guessing there was some previous drama over the shared driveway. Perhaps Vida and Roy didn't like dealing with the headlights in their windows in the late hours when Kevin was heading to do chicken carcass sanitation. Who knows? 7/
@MurderSmall@Jimmypisfunny@WhismanSucks But now I at least understand how the fence could have happened - fencing off your property and telling your crazy son to finish his own damn driveway and stop using yours doesn't sound THAT weird.
Mystery solved. Great episode! 8/8

1/ Just saw @mikamckinnon's thread about the #tsunami warning from #NTWC as a result of the Alaska quake In case you're still not sure if you should take these warnings seriously, let me tell you about my hometown, Crescent City, CA.(THREAD)
2/ Something about the topography of the sea floor around Crescent City has the effect of focusing tsunamis, and it has been the victim of three destructive tsunamis in the last 60 years.
3/ In 2006 the harbor was damaged after a surge resulting from a magnitude 8.3 earthquake in the western Pacific. Thankfully, no one was killed.
