The sequential cannibalizing of its leaders through jailing, execution, assassination, etc. is the wrong path. Arresting Imran Khan will only deepen the crisis. I urge 2 steps: 1. Set a date for national elections in early June to avert a meltdown.
2. Use this time for the main political parties to confont what has gone wrong and propose a specific plan to rescue and put the country on a path to stability, security, and prosperity. Whichever party wins the election will have a mandate from the people on what must be done.

The Taliban bans women from taking university entrance exams. This decision further hammers in the earlier edict banning women’s higher education. #Afghanistan#Taliban
It is now clear that contrary to their assurances there is no intention for this ban to be temporary. This unconscionable decision also indicates that the efforts of Taliban leaders who oppose the ban have been rejected.
If they are sincere and want to stop their country’s slide back into a pariah state they must consider more effective measures. Leading Muslim scholars globally, such as Mavlavi Abdul Hamid, have stated unequivocally that this ban is Non-Islamic and lacks religious legitimacy.
