Oromia PP has lost touch with reality. Despicably corrupt officials have continued to weaken our country's social integrity with apparent impunity. They are cold-bloodedly overseeing the massacre of thousands of citizens across the region, which is largely tumultuous & perilous.
The cover-up of the Borana famine, which has starved over 800,000 people & killed 3.3 million cattle, while the regional politicians feasted on misappropriated public resources, shows how greed & ego animate the myopic & regressive politics of the region.
Their ill-fated attempts to dominate state institutions & commandeer the economy under the guise of following Oromo political interests, as well as forcefully reshaping the civil society structure, particularly in AA and Oromia, are pushing Ethiopia to the brink of civil war.
The Mayor's allegation of a coup by people entering AA from other regions is a veiled assault on certain groups of people who are regularly denied access to the city. This is a false excuse for the city's & Oromia region's infringement on citizens' human and political rights.
The recent forceful attempt by Oromia regional & local officials to split, subdue, and reorganize #EOTC in the image of their ethnocentric politics exemplifies their desire to usurp the State and civil society to service their erroneous political agenda & insatiable greed.

OPP is hijacked by a network of corrupt & more radical ethno-nationalists
The network grew while the PM focused on the war
Some in the network used to be the PM’s close allies in tackling a faction opposed to the inception of PP
(Background) OPP started competing with more radical groups in its last days as OPDO & eventually adopted full blown ethnocentric practices
Those radical political groups (excl. OLF-A) have been paralyzed, but the faction within OPP has refused to embrace a moderate approach
The network has also harbored (turned itself into) ferociously corrupt & unruly officials that are behind most of the crimes & lawlessness we’ve witnessed over the past 3 years
No wonder, some of them even chose to directly work with OLF-A
In the initial phase of the peace talks, TPLF wants nothing but a ceasefire.
Here is why:
TPLF leaders understand that they have hardly any bargaining power to demand political concessions at this point. They cannot put pressure on the Government for a respite, either.
Thus, the West threatens Ethiopia with harsher economic and diplomatic sanctions to fill TPLF's void. Like TPLF, its priority is forcing a truce in one way or another.
Did ENDF commit the mass killings? @cnni says that it cannot confirm👇
➡️ "videos... are difficult to authenticate"
➡️ "CNN does not have the original, raw footage to examine"
➡️ "If the soldiers in the... video are indeed Ethiopian National Defense Forces"
@cnni admits that it used at least 2 unrelated clips & the people are NOT the same🤔
➡️ "In one video, soldiers can be seen rounding up dozens of men & in another clip, the bodies of at least 11 men are piled... CNN has not been able to identify whether they are the same men."🙄
