Nex stage is to polish, polish, polish, polish and one more time pooolish. Do it until you see yourself reflecting on the surface 🪞👀 “#superfun” process

After intense polishing, it is ready to next part of the process. Using water and “Bianco di Spagna” gently rub the plate and then wash away the excess inpurities. Repeat that couple of times. #IRL #FakeGotchi #AavegotchiART #FIRENZE

Next step is to prepare the surface for design work..
1. Pre heat the plate very hooot
2. Then coat a thin layer it with “SATINE”
3. Dry it! Don’t scretch, don’t touch with 👌🏼 need to work with presision and try not to fuck things up, if so start all over.

Plate is ready for design work. 1st technique “aquaforte” for contour.
At this stage surface is very delicate to touch. Every preasure that is made can leave unwanted consequences. With steady hand:
1. Use copy paper to transfer lines
2. Trace with sharp awl
3. Dip in adic

Next stage, I’m adding next layer of technique “Ceramolle” aka “Soft ground etching”.
1. You heat up “plate”
2. With special roller, put on thin layer of “Bitume”
3. Transfer design with pancel. Preasure is the key. More you press, more exposed the aluminium will be to acid. twitter.com/i/web/status/1…

When design is transfered. It is ready for acid bath. Give nr. to shades, then calculate the timing. 1st start with the white. More axposed in acid, more dark will be the section. Everytime after acid you cover over the previous and move on to next darker tone until it is done. twitter.com/i/web/status/1…

Inking:

1. With squeegee apply thick layer of ink
2. Use soft leather stamp to press ink in all the crevasses
3. With rough fabric mash, scrub away most of the ink
4. Use softer fabric, move hand in ♾ patern
5. Use gloss-paper, polish more
(there is no wrong or right amount)

Hand-printing is a slow process, it takes time, and you need to be mindful not to do mistakes. Each time you prepare the design or print it - the end result will be unique. It is practically impossible to have 2 identical prints - they all are 1/1. #aavegotchiart #fakegotchiart

To ensure proper ink transfer, the paper should be dampened in a water bath. Next, the fresh prints are placed under pressure to dry and flatten. Once ready, they can be titled, signed, numbered, embossed, authenticated, and after tokenized as NFTs 🤫
