I think we were on the cusp of a huge ideological breakthrough when covid hit. It was a wake up call: our lives, health and relationships are important. Mindless consumerism is not the answer, working ourselves into an early grave doesn't appeal... and clean air is important

Covid showed us change *is* possible. Drastic change IS possible (if only initially to protect old white men). But then as the wake up call started to take hold, and more evidence that it was airborne came to light, people in power started pushing for "normalcy" again

Now that the rich and powerful knew how to better protect themselves by making their environments #DavosSafe they could push the plebs back into the cycle of endless consumerism and obedience

I truly believe these people did not want us to begin questioning why we need to consume to be happy, and most importantly: why we need CLEAN AIR. This is undeniably linked to the #ClimateCrisis and the people who want us to remain in the dark about the damage they've wrought

Sadly so many people have hopped back on the train to normalcy. The empathy and solidarity that first manifested at the beginning of covid has disappeared. People have become gatekeepers of the old normal, forcing, cajoling, mocking those of us who urge for caution

It is a form of abuse, both physical and psychological: exposing people to infection after infection. People either don't care (because the pandemic is over right? Its mild!) Or they are resigned to their fate (what are you gonna do?) People are in effect powerless

It truly disgusts me. The lies, the gaslightling, the utter disregard for human life. What about people's rights to NOT be sick, to NOT get brain damage? To NOT suffer from LC and ill-health? To NOT die 10 years prematurely due to a stroke?

I knew language was powerful. I knew the human mind was powerful. But I never truly grasped how far humans could go to allow language to shape reality, how our brains can just completely ignore objective facts to create our own more palatable reality.

I thought if people are still catching covid and dying, that couldn't be ignored. I thought if people have LC, they couldn't ignore the effects of #LetItRip.

How wrong I was.

As soon as it disappears from the news, its gone. The pandemic is "over"

I've spoken with people who have no idea that their current health issues probably stem from a covid infection. As I connect the dots for them, it's like a candle slowly is lit... only to be blown out again as they rush around trying to "do normal" like good little proles

If a new variant hits us (thinking of Sweden now) we will be screwed. Absolutely screwed. We don't have the tools to fight it because most Swedes believe the BS that masks don't work, mitigations don't work, vaxx don't work... because of the work of Tegnell and his paymasters

Most Swedes believe the lies that Sweden had the lowest excess mortality in the EU. So they think we did everything right!

I despair. I truly do.

My only hope is that seeing how drastic change WAS possible at beginning of covid, it can happen again. Lord knows how tho...
