The news that #Succession would end with Season 4 caught many fans off guard — and some of the cast as well. Sarah Snook said that she was not officially informed until the final table read in January: “I was very upset.” lat.ms/3Jv1q1h
“I felt a huge sense of loss, disappointment and sadness. It would have been nice to know at the beginning of the season, but I also understand not being told until the end because there was still a potential that maybe this wasn’t going to be the end.” lat.ms/3Jv1q1h
“Emotionally, all of us weren’t necessarily ready to be done with the show because we love each other so much,” she added. “But everything has to come to an end, and it’s smart not to let something become a parody of itself.” lat.ms/3Jv1q1h

Corruption in California’s cannabis industry has become widespread and brazen.

Now state officials are launching an audit aimed at curtailing bribery, conflicts of interest and other misdeeds.

There have been pay-to-play schemes, including a demand for cash in a brown paper bag for a pot license, threats of violence against local officials, and city council members accepting money from cannabis businesses even as they regulated them. latimes.com/california/sto…
Those problems and more were uncovered by a sweeping Times investigation last year. latimes.com/california/sto…

As a strike that has shut down LAUSD schools continues into a second day, Mayor Karen Bass has stepped in to talk with union and school district leaders to offer “assistance and support." latimes.com/california/sto…
The district’s noon update, posted on social media, revealed few specific details and gave no indication that the third scheduled day of the strike Thursday could be prevented.

The #JohnWick team, including Keanu Reeves and director Chad Stahelski, learned of Lance Riddick's death on Friday. “We were destroyed when it happened,” Stahelski said.

Over the weekend they added a tribute to Reddick to the film's credits. lat.ms/40p3nmN
“We went up to Keanu’s room and had a whole meeting and there was no talk, there was no decision — everybody just knew the right thing to do,” said the director. “When you have that many people who love someone, you just know.” lat.ms/40p3nmN
Although “John Wick 4” had already screened in New York, Toronto and in Austin at SXSW, the decision was swiftly made on Friday to update the finished film’s credits with a dedication card in time for the L.A. premiere. lat.ms/40p3nmN

A massive three-day strike planned by the majority of LAUSD employees — bus drivers, teachers, custodians and others — kicked off early today, with picketers marching through the dark, rainy morning.

latimes.com/california/sto…
Hundreds of school employees, many among the lowest-paid, joined the picket line before 5 a.m. at LAUSD’s Van Nuys bus yard, marching in ponchos and balancing signs with their umbrellas.

The walkout will last Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

latimes.com/california/sto…
U.S. Rep. Adam B. Schiff (D-Burbank) joined the striking workers, calling the median income of $25,000 for bus drivers, cafeteria workers and school aides “poverty wages.”

The Los Angeles Unified School District strike that will shut down public schools through Thursday could set up scheduling ramifications for a number of programs in the City Section. latimes.com/sports/highsch…
More than 100 games in baseball, softball, volleyball and other spring sports will be canceled.

City Section charter schools such as Palisades, Granada Hills and Birmingham, however, can still play, given their lack of affiliation with the LAUSD. latimes.com/sports/highsch…
And there’s a growing problem in terms of possible playoff seeding: Rainouts.
