Eijirou thought he would be happy dating Katsuki, someone he loved so dearly, but he missed his friend. Izuku had distanced himself, leaving them space, giving himself time.
He'd respected that, but sometimes, he'd wish that they'd never confessed, that they'd kept this one secret between them.
Dating Katsuki was amazing, his love for his boyfriend grew more and more as the weeks, then months, passed, but there was an ache in his chest that kept
spreading.
“Where's Deku?” his lover's voice stirred him out of his thoughts and Eijirou couldn't help but hate it. /Where was Deku?/ It felt like an eternity since he'd talked to his friend — and maybe it was.
He missed him.
Eijirou snuggled close to Katsuki's chest, his boyfriend's arm pulling him closer. “I don't know,” he pouted. “Maybe he needs more time.”
“More time for what?” Katsuki shifted on the couch. “S'not like we have any assignment. Thought he would come
if we put his fav All Might series on the TV.”
“I wasn't talking about that,” Eijirou rolled his eyes. “What did he say in his letter? Did he talk about what he'd do if you rejected him?”
He felt Katsuki's body tense under him; Eijirou stood up, looking away.
“What—”
“Sorry,” he interrupted. “I shouldn't have asked, it's between you and him, but he's my friend too and—”
“Eijirou—” Katsuki tried.
“I mean,” he rubbed his neck nervously. “Sorry for asking—”
“No, Ei, you don't understand,” Katsuki's hands cupped each side of his head, their eyes met with both despair and confusion. “What letter are you talking about?”

thank you for all the reactions 🫶 just know it's gonna be krbkdk endgame and angst with happy ending!
Eijirou settles on Katsuki's desk chair as his — boyfriend? — sits on the bed.
Katsuki stares in the void, refusing to look at him. He wants to demand for his attention, yell at him that he's still there, but he feels the weigh of those unread words between them.
“I thought you received it,” Eijirou wants to explain himself, the guilt is eating his insides. “We put both of them together in your locker.”
Katsuki stays unresponsive, acting as if he doesn't see him — and maybe he doesn't.
“I'm sorry,” he pushes. “I don't know what happened.”
He feels helpless, shifting awkwardly in his seat as the atmosphere becomes more unbearable with each second that passes.
“Katsuki, please talk to me—”
“I wouldn't have chosen you over him,” Katsuki states and Eijirou's heart sink.
“I see,” he feels the tears before they fall, there's the taste of iron in his mouth, a storm inside his chest; he doesn't know what it is — despair,
relief, anger. He wants to run away, or wishes he could bargain. He stands up. “Thank you for being honest with me.”
He turns on his heels, walks to the door. He pauses an instant, but Katsuki doesn't move, doesn't talk.
He leaves the room without looking back.

Eijirou though he would see both Katsuki and Izuku holding hands the next day as his now ex-boyfriend would have cleared the misunderstanding, but nothing changes.
Izuku still keeps his distances and Katsuki does nothing to cross it.
He wonders if it's the guilt — for hurting him or hurting Izuku? — because he feels the same.
He wants to go to Izuku, tell him about the letter, but he's scared.
Would he lose both of them for good if he did?
He keeps quiet, watching as they glance at each other when they think the other isn't looking. Sometimes, one of them turns his head toward his seat, but not long enough for their eyes to meet.
One week passes, then two, and Eijirou feels the atmosphere deteriorate even more. Mina asks him what happened and he doesn't know what to tell her.
/I've been dumped by two boys at the same time?/
If he knew he would lose his relationship with Katsuki /and/ his friendship with Izuku, he would never have written this letter.
The image of the two dating wouldn't have hurt that much, but both of them not being apart of his life, watching them from afar, makes
his heart ache in a way he never felt before.
He isn't as focused as he used to in class and lacks attention in his internships as his thoughts are filled with the two boys — how one told him his quirk was cool and how the other said it made him strong.
Now he feels like they
were lies.
He rarely hears the sound of their voice until he wakes in Recovery Girl's infirmary to their shaky voices.
“... It's not your fault, Kacchan, Aizawa said he didn't activate his quirk in time.”
“I never said it was my fault,” Katsuki grumbles. “But still,
I should've noticed he wasn't ready.”
A long silence follows.
“Kacchan, can I ask you something?” he can hear the hesitation in his voice.
“You already did.”
“Why did you two break up?” Izuku asks and Eijirou almost
chokes. “I thought— I thought you loved each other,” his voice cracks. “Is it my— my fault?”
Eijirou wants to take him in his embrace and assure him it's not, that's it's him who isn't enough.
“It's mine,” Katsuki says. “I just wanted
too much and I ended not having any of it. That's all.”
“What's too much for Kacchan? Whatever is it, I'm sure you can work it out together—”
Katsuki laughs, sounding more desperate than before. “We can't.”
He hears some steps, but they end quicky. He guesses Izuku stopped Katsuki from leaving.
“I know Kacchan made it clear, you don't want me in your business — or in your lives —, still I can't help but feel like there's something I can do—”
“You can't anything,” Katsuki snaps. “I don't want anything. Not from him, not from you, I just—” his voice breaks.
“Kacchan,” Izuku pleads, “you've read my letter, right? You remember what I said, don't you?”
There's a silence and Eijirou fears what's coming.
He feels selfish, but if the misunderstanding is cleared now, if everything works about for them, if Katsuki's chooses Izuku, then what will end up of him? Will he stay on the sidelines? He almost opens his eyes, almost makes them know he's awake.
“Yeah,” Katsuki rasps before he can move.
He hears footsteps, someone running away, the door opening and shutting down as quickly.
There's a long silence in the small room, before another set of footsteps comes closer. Someone takes his hand,
he feels tears fall on his skin.
“It's okay,” Izuku's voice breaks and Eijirou feels like crying too. “Even if you didn't choose me, it's okay.”
Eijirou drifts back to sleep, Izuku's hands holding his own.
-
When Eijirou wakes again, Izuku is gone. Instead, Mina is resting her head on the side of his bed, sleeping. He gently poked her forehead to nudge her awake.
She slowly opens her eyes and smiles when she sees him. “Welcome back to the land of the livings,” she teases. “How do you feel?”
“Tired,” he croaks.
“Recovery Girl said it was probably exhaustion.” Mina hums. “You
couldn't activate your quirk in time.”
“How— much time?” his throat feels so dry.
“Only for the day,” she hands him a bottle of water. “Your moms are on their way, Aizawa-sensei called them.”
“Why—?” he rasps, taking the drink to ease his thirst.
“Eijirou, you're so tired you forgot to use your quirk,” she seems worried. “And you look like a mess. When was the last time you dyed your hair?”
He shakes his head. “Izuku used to—”
The door opens, interrupting their conversation, and his mom comes inside.
“Eijirou!” she rushes to his side. “Does it still hurt? Are you in pain? Do you need anything?”
“Dear,” his other mom enters the room.
“Try not to overwhelm him, he's probably still tired.”
“It's— okay, mama,” he tempers. “I'm fine.”
“I don't think you are,” Aizawa-sensei's voice interjects. “You should probably take the week to recover.”
“I don't— need a week,” he protests. “One day was enough.”
“I wasn't offering,” his teacher informs. “You can choose to go home or stay in the dorms, but you will rest.”
He's about to leave the room, but turns around on the threshold. “Also, inform your classmates that you're alright. They seemed really distraught. I told them to go back to the dorms, or they would've stood by your door the whole day.”
“Sure,” he wonders who it could have been — Katsuki left on its own and Izuku probably didn't stayed long after. “Thank you, sensei.”
-
Eijirou decides to go home for the rest of the week, hoping the distance will help his heart heal even for a bit.
His moms try to cheer him up, but all he does is staying in his room, laying on his bed, wondering when the pain will go away.
After he few days, he understands what his condition is; an heartbreak.
He never thought he would experience one this soon. Especially not when a few months ago, he thought /they/ would always be by his side.
He wishes Katsuki and Izuku were there.
The week passes quickly, even when it feels like an eternity when it is spent staring at the ceiling of his room.
When his mandatory rest ends, summer break comes around and he doesn't go back to the dorm yet.
And just like that, it's already been two weeks since he'd seen
either of them.
One morning, his moms are gone as they're on a trip to visit their extended family for a few days when he hears someone knocks on the front door.
“Coming,” he rasps as the stranger hits harder.
When he swing the door open, he's met with the sigh of his ex-boyfriend holding a duffel bag.
“Hi,” Katsuki says and he almost shuts the door on his face.

hehe, what do you think of katsuki? I'm curious about how you feel about him 😂
Eijirou sits in the living room as his ex-boyfriend cooks lunch for them.
“You look like shit,” Katsuki brings the plates to the low table, the smell of curry enveloping the room.
“I know,” he answers, grabbing chopsticks.
They eat in a tense silence for the most part, until Eijirou cannot take it anymore.
“What are you doing here?” he asks.
“Your moms called me,” Katsuki answers calmly. “They're worried about you.”
“Why didn't you tell them we broke up?” he accuses.
“Why didn't you?”
Their eyes meet and for the first time, Eijirou doesn't know how to read Katsuki's face.
“What about Izuku then?”
“On a vacation with All Might.”
“Didn't go with them?”
“No,” he says. “Izuku and I fought, he's not talking to me.”
“Why?”
“Hell if I know,” he shrugs.
Another thick silence fills the room, Eijirou wonders how Katsuki can act so nonchalant about everything.
“What are you doing here?”
“I'm here to take care of you since you can't do it yourself.”
“What if I don't want you to?”
Katsuki rolls his eyes. “Too late,” he shouts. “I'm already here, so you better enjoy the activities I planned for the week because you're gonna have
a blast!”
Eijirou can't help but smile. “Alright,” he chuckles. “Then what are we doing first?”
“Me? Nothing. /You/? You're gonna take a shower,” Katsuki pinches his nose. “You stink.”
-
Katsuki stays true to his words and plans all sort of activities that force Eijirou out of his room.
He doesn't have time to think about their failed relationship — or about Izuku —, except when it's time to go to bed and Katsuki leaves him alone as he sleeps in the guest room.
Maybe he'll call Izuku next week.
On the last day of the week, right before his moms return from their trip, Katsuki brought him hiking. They had to wake up early in the morning — more like Katsuki woke him up by yelling at him to get up at 5 am — to take the bus to their
destination.
The journey's nice, full of beautiful plants and landscapes. He even see some flying squirrels in the trees boarding their way.
They reached their objective in the middle of the afternoon and set up the tent together.
Then they relaxe under the sun, resting after a day spent climbing the mountain.
“I thought you loved him too, you know,” Katsuki says as they watch the valley underneath together.
“W—What?” he chokes. “Why?”
/Izuku?/
“Talked a damn lot 'bout him in that letter. That's why I thought you were like me.” He sighs, looks away to watch as the sun sets behind the mountains on the other side of the valley. “I thought that even if we couldn't choose him, we could stick together.”
Katsuki turns back to him, a vulnerable look in the eyes and for the first time since this whole mess started, he feels that Katsuki's opening up to him. “When you told me that he wrote a letter too, I felt hurt, and betrayed. Because if it was true,
then I couldn't even have that, I couldn't even have you.” He pauses, bows his head in sincerity. “I am sorry for what I said back then and how I acted. You didn't deserve that. When you were gone for a week, it hurt much more than I would've expected.
You'd looked so tired and I knew it was my fault,” Katsuki explained. “Izuku wanted to know why we broke up, but I couldn't tell him," he breathes. “Because the truth is, I couldn't choose him over you either.” His voice breaks.
“Its my fault we're in this mess, and I don't know how to fix it, I don't know— I don't know how to fix /me/,” he cries, tears wetting his face.
Eijirou's body moves before he can think and his hands grab each side of Katsuki's neck, pulling him closer.
Before he knows it, they're kissing desperately. Eijirou's crying too and when the taste of salt conquers his lips, he ignores whose tears it is from.
Somehow, Eijirou understands.
He never thought that declaring his love to Katsuki back then meant that he would have to renounce to Izuku too and yet, that's how it felt. Losing him was a choice he didn't know he was making.
“I think— I think I don't want to choose either.”
And just like that, he lets Katsuki go.

don't hesitate to comment or qrt I love reading your reactions 🫰
Eijirou is chilling on his couch when someone knocks on his door. He groans, getting up. Pumpkin, Izuku's cat, is already meowing at the entrance, ready to greet the newcomer.
The door opens to Ochako carrying a bag full of groceries, followed by an already scowling Katsuki. “What's the point of having a spar key if we have to knock everytime?”
“It's called being civil,” she responds. “Hi, Kirishima-kun,” she turns to him.
“Hi,” he greets, letting them inside. Pumpkin's already purring in Katsuki's arms and he has to kick off his shoes while carrying her. “I'm the one feeding her everyday when Izuku's gone on missions, yet you're still her favourite,” he sighs dramatically. “So unmanly.”
“Just wait until Deku comes back,” Katsuki shrugs. “I won't exist anymore.”
“Does that mean those strong arms will be free?” he teases.
“Depends who's asking,” Katsuki smirks as Pumpkin yawns loudly in his hold.
“Stop flirting in front of my salads,” Ochako interrupts them, gesturing to the groceries she put on the kitchen counter. “We've got a meal to prepare for tonight.”
Eijirou feels his face redden and a glance to his friend tells him Katsuki's ears are hot too.
“What time did All Might say he'd bring Deku?” Katsuki asks as if he didn't know it by heart.
“8pm,” he answers. “His plane lands in the afternoon, but I think he's gonna visit his mom first.”
“More time for us to prepare everything then! Let's get started,”
Katsuki lets the cat go back to the floor. “We're gonna kill him with our cooking, and he'll never want to leave again.”
Eijirou laughs. “It'd be nice if he stayed more than the mandatory month. The appartement feels lonely without my roommate.”
“I wouldn't count on that,” Ochako interjects. “He told me Salaam wanted to work with him as soon as he could.”
He hears Katsuki sigh in disappointment. “Let's just do our best for tonight. Maybe he'll stay longer this time.”
Eijirou glances at the door of Izuku's room, remembering the conversation they had five years ago.
“Maybe,” he doesn't believe his own words. “He'll stay longer next time.”

After their hike in the mountains, Katsuki left, returning to his parents'. Eijirou stayed home for the rest of the holiday, but his heart didn't feel as broken as before.
“I'm glad your boyfriend asked us if he could come,” his mom had said. “You look better.”
“I thought you were the one who asked him?”
“He's the one who called to check on you,” his mama added. “He was worried after your injury.”
Back then, Eijirou didn't really know how to feel about Katsuki's behaviour,
how he helped him out of an heartbreak he had partially caused.
He just remembers being scared to call Izuku.
So, he sent him texts instead.
Texts about training, walks he took around the neighborhood, food be ate. Izuku responded to some of them,
asking about a move he was working on, reacting to a picture he'd sent or a recipe he tested.
He sometimes sent texts to Katsuki, asking how he was doing. He learnt that both were talking again, mostly about training and school.
Katsuki said they should talk about the letter when summer break ended.
Which is how they met at Ground Beta in the beginning of autumn.
“Why are we meeting on a training ground?” he remembers asking.
“In case we need to fight,” Izuku said.
“Didn't go well last time,” he commented.
“Well, Kacchan didn't want to fight.”
“To talk you mean?”
“That's what I said.”
They didn't fight in the end, only talked — and cried.
“That's why you didn't come talk to me,” Izuku had said. “I thought you didn't want me in your life anymore.”
Katsuki apologized again, said he wished he had done things differently.
Izuku apologized for distancing himself.
He apologized for neglecting his friend.
They didn't talk about what was in Izuku's letter, only wondered where it disappeared.
“Me and Eijirou, it's not working,” Katsuki told them. “I don't think we can work either.”
“We should move on,” Eijirou agreed. “We probably can't go back to what we had before, but I'm sure we can all become friends again.”
Izuku has stayed silent for a moment, as if trying to figure what to say.
“Izuku, if you need time—”
“It's fine,” he smiled through the tears. “We're not leaving anyone behind anymore, right? Let's be friends again!”
In the end, Eijirou feels like it's Izuku who left them behind, even more since he became an international hero, taking missions all around the world.
Sharing an appartement sometimes appears like a curse as
he feels as if he's living with the ghost of his friend.
He's not even sure Izuku calls it home anymore as he's never there.
Katsuki often drops by, as he lives not so far away in the same building complex than Ochako.
Sometimes, when he receives a call from All Might, informing him that Izuku is recovering in an hospital too far away to visit, he remembers that time Izuku and Katsuki
visited him in UA's infirmary back when he got injured, and he wonders if Izuku really moved on from Katsuki as he said when they moved together.
He wonders if, when Izuku takes another mission far away from home, it's not his feelings he's leaving behind.

we'll see more of izuku in the next update, what do you think is going on in his head? what happened to the letter? stay tuned!!!!
Izuku watches as rain drops trace sinuous paths on the window. There's a knot in his stomach, an anxious feeling in his guts at the prospect of going home.
“My boy,” All Might says, but he doesn't look away, still staring at the glass. “If I may, I believe you should rest for
a few months before accepting Salam's offer.”
Izuku doesn't respond, irritation starting to gain him.
“Maybe you could work on smaller missions at the agency until then,” All Might continues. “It's a bit too soon to go undercover again.”
Izuku only grunts, wishing this conversation could end already. He really doesn't want to talk.
“Ultimately, it is your choice, but remember that you need to take care of you too.”
/My choice, huh./
Izuku thinks back of the day he waited for them to come, in vain. He remembers the pain of his heart breaking at the sight of the two chilling on the common room's couch.
Smiling as if nothing was wrong.
This wasn't his choice.
The memory doesn't hurt as much anymore. What wounds him is the smiles they wear /now/, the glances they share, the hands they brush.
The guilt eating his insides.
All for a letter that got lost before it could be read.
All Might pulls the car in front of the apartment complex and Izuku gets out of the vehicle, not caring about the rain soaking his clothes.
As he climbs the stairs, he wonders if Kacchan will be there with Eijirou.
They always throw him a small party when he comes back from a long mission. As usual, he feels dreads when his hand's on the handle.
He knew they loved each other then and knows they still do now. He fears the moment they will get tired
of pretending the opposite.
He's scared.
He hears muffled voices through the door, recognizes some of his friends. He can discern Kacchan and Eijirou too.
He wonders if they finally broke the promise he made them swear to keep five years ago and decided they no longer wanted to be friends, but the lovers they would have been if not for him.
Will he enters and see them sitting together on the couch, smiling as if nothing is wrong?
He opens the door, bracing himself for a heartbreak.
“WELCOME BACK!”
The sight of his friends before him warms his broken heart. Ochako, Eijirou and Tenya are in the front, cheering for his return.
Kacchan and Shoto stand next to the kitchen counter, looking in his direction.
Behind him, All Might puts a warm hand on his shoulder. “Welcome home, my boy.”
He beams, understanding how much he missed all of them, how much he's alone, when he sees them again.
He does what every Midoriya does under overwhelming circumstances.
Katsuki woke up in the middle of the night, panting. He couldn't remember his dream, only felt the dread, the suffocating feeling of losing something. He turned to the sleeping form of his boyfriend,
summary: Katsuki is one of the kids from the Isle of Musutafu that were chosen to live in Yuei. His only goal: surpass everyone and take over the kingdom. But things don't always go according to plan.

Katsuki never thought he would be able to see the capitale of Yuei with in own eyes, yet here he was, standing in front of a crowd of its people, listening to the speech the young prince of the kingdom was giving.
He rolled his eyes, making sure the camera caught him. He had only agreed to this farce to show those fuckers at Yuei that he, a kid from the Isle of Musutafu, could surpass every one of them.
"I will now let one of our new citizen speak," the prince said
keigo landed on the ground and ran. "dabi!" he called, desperation filing his voice.
the villain only smirked, playing with his fire. "if it isn't the little spy?"
"dabi," he called again. "please..."
the villain only stated at him. "tell me, keigo... why would i listen to you? you're a hero, you work for the commission, you fight by /endeavor/'s side."
"i don't anymore," keigo breathed, "i chose you, like you asked."
and for the first time, the determination in dabi's eyes seemed to waver.

Eijirou woke up to Katsuki's eyes staring at him in the dark. His boyfriend smiled softly, wrapping an arm around his waist to bring him closer.
"I love you," he heard the man whisper against his ear.
Eijirou smiled. "I love you too," he said, snuggling against the Katsuki's chest.
He didn't see the silent tears that fell from his boyfriend's eyes.

It had been seven years since Deku died. Katsuki stood quietly in front of the grave. He just stared at the stone, his mind drifting to the last moments he shared with his late friend, when they were both about to die. When they promised
ok so what about the shitty ending but #bkdk version?? like:
The sun was peaking through the rain when Katsuki and Izuku first brought there daughter to All Might's grave. She was 7 and never got to meet the man.
Izuku crouched down in front of the tomb. "All Might,"
he spoke, "there is someone I want you to meet."
"Dad," the girl called, her tiny hand holding her papa Kacchan's one. "Who's All Might?"
Izuku looked at here and smiled.
"Nana," he said. "Let me tell the story of how we all became the greatest heroes."
