Rare picture of revolutionary Batukeshwar Dutt on his death bed with #BhagatSingh's mother Vidyawati caressing him. Independent India, which followed the path of ahimsa, did not accord Dutt any recognition, and he spent his remaining life in poverty. 1/
Batukeshwar Dutt was born on 18 November 1910 in Bardhaman, Bengal. Along with Singh and Sukhdev, he was tried in the Central Assembly Bomb Case, and was sentenced in 1929 to life imprisonment. 2/
So many revolutionaries and their kin suffered in free India, whereas Gandhi bhakts became the ruling class. All those Indian underlings of the British who tortured and killed our freedom fighters also luxuriated in free India. They and their offspring became the new sahibs. 3/

From private papers of Sardar Patel at National Archives. Not clear who wrote this as pages are missing. But seems like a blueprint of sort by a Gandhi bhakt. As we all know, Gandhians are devoted first and foremost to non-violence. 1/
The subhead is: "Progressive realisation of Non-violence by the Government in Police and Military". At the very start, it says "our ultimate ideal is to replace the military by non-violent defence".
This is in line with what Bapu said. 2/
"Glorification of solider, therefore, immediately cease," it goes on to read. It further reads that "Immediate disbandment of military may not be found practical by the Government". @chandrachurg and I have detailed in our book that idea of disbandment was there even in 1950s 3/
The make-believe pic seen here created by my friend Sauvagya Bhanja.

CFSL, Kolkata turned down RTI request of Sayak to share copy of electropherogram on the basis of which it was concluded that Gumnami Baba was not Netaji. Three reasons have been given. National security, trade secrets and third party information. The latter two are nonsense.
2/
In brief, Justice MK Mukherjee Commission (1999-2005) was not able to prove that Gumnami Baba was Netaji primarily because of negative handwriting and DNA reports from sarkari labs. In private talks with us and others, late Justice Mukherjee felt these tests were fudged.

Beginning late 1943, Mahatma Gandhi wrote to Viceroy Linlithgow, explaining his position over August 1942 movement, which had turned violent after his arrest. Govt blamed Gandhi for obstructing the war efforts. Gandhiji in his response to the Viceroy, clarified:
1/
[1]. It was not the Quit India resolution but the action of Government which led to the acts of violence. It was the Government which "goaded the people to the point of madness". That is the people who took part in Quit India movement.
2/
[2]. The aim of "Quit India" resolution was to bring about conditions under which India could effectively participate in the war efforts of the Allies. Which would for most part mean the running over of Japan.

Fake narrative was spread that INA was a puppet army of the Japanese. The truth is decades after the end of the war, Japanese army veteran continued to treat INA with utmost respect. This is Gen Fujiwara with Col Dhillon in the 1980s.
Pulitzer-award winning US journalist Louis Fischer met Gandhiji in July 1946. Govt of India financed, Oscar-winning movie "Gandhi" was based on Fischer's biography of Gandhiji. No one knew what transpired in the meeting in 1946.
2/
After Fischer's death, his papers reached Princeton University, and lo, tumbles out the secret. There was a letter written on behalf of Gandhiji by his secretary Khurshedben Naoroji, granddaughter of the great Dadabhai Naoroji, first Indian to become an MP in the UK. 3/
This is not what it seems. India is suffering manpower shortage in armed forces. Brainwashing children into the cult of ahimsa is detrimental to the survival of our civilization. No Gandhi bhakt will ever join the armed forces.
