The biggest issue with solving covid & long covid is certain select self-described “professionals” with fragile egos who make everything ten times more complex bc they can’t play nice with the other kids. We are doing this TO OURSELVES.
Meanwhile, people are DYING.
My opinion of the @CDCgov is now in the toilet, btw. I honestly didn’t think I could be more disgusted by them. But here we are.

According to Webster’s Dictionary, “abuse” is defined as “improper treatment.”
Since an individual associated w/@CDCgov is calling other scientists “abusive” bc he’s feeling pouty on Twitter, here is a @1goodtern-inspired thread:
5 Ways the CDC is “Abusive.”
1. They denied covid tests to sick Americans who “hadn’t been to China” in the first few months of 2020. Including me. Which has = fuel/“evidence” for denialist HCWs who “don’t believe long covid exists.”
2. They severely delayed in telling the American public that covid was being spread asymptomatically. In fact, I have found zero evidence they EVER told people. Please add it if you have it.
2021: I nearly died of severe fungal growth in my lungs that “baffled” my Harvard-educated pulmonologist. I was in the ICU for a wk. My nurse suspected HIV.
My family called it “mental illness.”
After my discharge, my health insurance company tripled my monthly premium. & then they refused to pay for medication to help my lungs recover bc the medication was “too expensive.”
The system isn’t “broken.” It’s working for certain specific groups.
But sure. Ignore covid.
Massachusetts, btw. With its self-congratulatory “elite health care.” While I was in the hospital, a conman stole the entire contents of my home. I filed a complaint w/then-AG Maura Healey (now @MassGovernor). The conman told her office I was “crazy” so she dropped the case.
For 2.5 years my cognitive ability was like rice pudding. I literally could not fix a microwave meal if it had more than 2 instructions. Meaning “make vent in cover, microwave for 4 minutes” was 💯 fine. But “make vent in cover, microwave 4 minutes, stir,
microwave 2 more minutes” was totally fucking impossible. Too many instructions. That was my #longcovid cognitive impairment. But I spent 1.5 of those 2.5 years with ZERO IDEA about why my brain wasn’t working normally.
Which was fucking terrifying & traumatizing.
How many human beings are living their lives like that right now?
I had a troll jump all over me in my dms a few months ago bc I dared comment on erectile dysfunction post-covid. We actually had a lovely chat. Once I showed him I actually gave a shit abt his welfare. It’s not impossible.
It is. Honestly. It must be a major cause of all sorts of bad behavior/moods. I’m not an expert for obvious reasons. But it can’t be good.
The dude who dm’d me was sooo over-the-top abt how manly he was it honestly worried me. For real. Like, if someone you don’t know dm’s you their total testosterone count that’s a bit worrying. He wanted to talk to *somebody* abt it & picked me for some reason.
If I post an article that does not include recommendations for masking, ventilation, & clean air it’s because I have been screaming into the void about those issues for eternity. So have many of you. Maybe those key words turn some people off.
Maybe we need to rethink our language & approach. Maybe brains limited by cognitive impairment due to SARS2 see 1 or 2 words & tune out completely. Maybe a tweak to language can cut thru the SARS2-induced fog & denial. Just a thought from someone who spent 3 years in special ed.
As an educator. 😂 (Not a student.) Meaning: I was once paid to figure out how to connect/reach non-typical brains & help them understand new and/or “different” information.
“Molnupiravir’s mechanism of action also carries the risk of spawning new viral variants. Recall that its entire modus operandi is, essentially, destruction via mutation. Certain scenarios, some as banal as”
“a person forgetting to finish their full course of medication, may bring about all of the mutation with none of the destruction.”
“The low efficacy is further problematized by a dubious safety profile. Owing to a shared intermediate required in both the synthesis of viral RNA as well as human DNA—ribonucleoside 5′-diphosphate—molnupiravir may pose a mutagenic threat to humans:”
