The biggest issue with solving covid & long covid is certain select self-described āprofessionalsā with fragile egos who make everything ten times more complex bc they canāt play nice with the other kids. We are doing this TO OURSELVES.
2021: I nearly died of severe fungal growth in my lungs that ābaffledā my Harvard-educated pulmonologist. I was in the ICU for a wk. My nurse suspected HIV.
My family called it āmental illness.ā
After my discharge, my health insurance company tripled my monthly premium. & then they refused to pay for medication to help my lungs recover bc the medication was ātoo expensive.ā
The system isnāt ābroken.ā Itās working for certain specific groups.

Ok, personal anecdote.
For 2.5 years my cognitive ability was like rice pudding. I literally could not fix a microwave meal if it had more than 2 instructions. Meaning āmake vent in cover, microwave for 4 minutesā was šÆ fine. But āmake vent in cover, microwave 4 minutes, stir,
microwave 2 more minutesā was totally fucking impossible. Too many instructions. That was my #longcovid cognitive impairment. But I spent 1.5 of those 2.5 years with ZERO IDEA about why my brain wasnāt working normally.
Which was fucking terrifying & traumatizing.
