#COVID #HealthIssues
I decided to write about my current health situation as I find it much therapeutic to pour my heart out. It also makes me stress free and helps me stay strong on my current situation.
Here is a self-reflective thread-
/1
What started as someone bringing COVID at home, has totally turned my life upside down. I had COVID quite early within my postpartum period (3 months postpartum) and that’s why probably it has resulted in significant post-COVID sequelae symptoms and had bio markers appearing.
/2
I won’t call it #LongCovid or #CLL yet, unless doctors officially diagnose. I am still waiting to get an appointment with the Haematologist from the public hospital. It will probably take some time to get the appointment. Meanwhile I’ve been speaking with doctors in my circle.
/3
One of these doctors is a Haematologist colleague of my doctor uncle, and it’s him who (the Haematologist) suggests it to be a #LongCovid situation, albeit unofficially after only seeing my blood reports. He recommended biopsy for an established diagnosis.
/4
Now, my situation is a bit puzzling. My bio markers are not super high/low yet, but have been so persistently for over 6 months atleast, following my COVID infection 8 months ago. In case you’re wondering, my Lymphocytes, WCC and CRP are higher than normal while MCHC is lower.
/5
I always have blood work done every few months to make sure everything is ok with me. My mother passed away with chronic illness so my whole family makes an effort on regular health monitoring. Therefore it’s clearly seen that my blood levels went off specifically after COVID.
/6
In addition to blood level indications, I also have on and off physical symptoms such as fatigue, weakness, occasional nosebleeds/muscle pain/lymph node swelling, chills etc. which can be due to other conditions as well. However, all of these are persistent for last 8 months.
/7
At the moment my symptoms are on and off so I’m still able to manage things more or less. However not sure how long I will be able to so. I think getting COVID quite soon after giving birth took its toll on my health as my immune system was still in recovery from childbirth.
/8
So, please try your best to avoid it in any way possible. Just effect of one infection was debilitating enough for me to literally put my health into a halt. So get informed about real COVID risks to yourselves and avoid the disease, by employing proper mitigations/NPIs.
/9
COVID doesn’t affect everyone the same way. So in its acute phase, eventhough COVID may not appear too harmful to anyone, it might still cause serious health damages to anyone infected, especially if multiple times that happens. So know the COVID risks properly and avoid it!

So, finally had a chance to wear the @breathe_99 elastomeric respirator today as a “run my errands” style mask. I am not in any way affiliated with the brand, just writing about it as a new user. A short review thread is here below for how it went specifically for me-
/1
As usual, I popped on a single-layer earloop cloth cover with a relaxed fit over the @breathe_99. I usually snip one but all layers of a cloth mask to make it thin as a cloth cover. The @breathe_99 comes with its own nice fabric cover so a cloth mask over it is optional.
/2
A good tip by @guan (see below) for a better nose seal for @breathe_99 was to take the strap out of the side of the mask’s original mesh cloth cover and reinstall it upside down. This helped me readjust the upper side strap to a better nose seal.
