On the day of the #WacoRally, I want to take this opportunity to remind everyone listening to it that Donald Trump is continuing to lie about one very central fact.

Trump did, in fact, LOSE the 2020 Presidential Election. It was not “stolen” or “rigged.” Trump LOST.
#TrumpRally
Trump lost the places where the bulk of the population lives. He lost not just the cities but also the suburbs.

He did very well in rural areas, which comprise most of the land. But a smaller share of the population.
Trump didn’t just lose himself. He caused the Republican Party to lose elections all over the country.

When Trump took office, in 2017, 33 of America’s 50 State Governors were Republicans.

When Trump left office, in 2021, there were only 27 Republican Governors.
When Trump took office in 2017, there were 241 House Republicans.

When Trump left office in 2021, there were 213 House Republicans.
When Trump took office in 2017, there were 52 Senate Republicans.

When Trump left office in 2021, there were 50 Senate Republicans.
When Trump took office in 2017, there were 25 states in which Republicans controlled both the Governorship and the state legislature (a “trifecta”). Democrats controlled only 6.

When Trump left office in 2021, Republicans had trifectas in 23 states. Democrats had them in 15.
Trump LOST re-election. The election was not “rigged.” It was not “stolen.” Donald Trump is not some sort of victim. He’s just a guy who, like every other area of his life, lost a lot more than he ever won.

And then lies about it.
Donald Trump is a liar.

He lied about how much money he made and lost.

He lied about the ratings for The Apprentice for crying out loud.

He lied about losing the 2016 Iowa Caucus to Ted Cruz.

And he lied about losing to Joe Biden in 2020.

It’s what he does.

There were 223 counties and county equivalents in the US that had a Voting Age Population (VAP) of 250,000 or more. Joe Biden won 165 of the 223.

There were 2,889 counties/equivalents that had a VAP of less than 250,000. Donald Trump won 2,516 of the 2,889.

BUT …
There are MORE THAN 51 MILLION MORE ADULTS living in the 223 counties that are home to a VAP of more than 250,000 than there are in the 2,889 counties that are home to fewer than 250,000 adults.

That’s why the county maps look so red but yet Trump got a lot fewer votes.
Trump won the hearts and souls of the places in America that are less populated.

But he bombed out in the places in America where a lot of people live. Both in the cities and in most of the nearby suburbs.

A human baby conceived on the day the Supreme Court overturned the Roe decision would be one week old, on average, today.

So let’s look at some stats. And ask ourselves, what have we done or are doing now to prepare for all the new life?

Because #prolife doesn’t end at birth!

How people who voted for Trump in 2020 answered these questions about politicians and hush money from the latest Economist/YouGov poll:
docs.cdn.yougov.com/ni3jnt30r2/eco…
Q41) “Do you think it is or is not a crime for a candidate for elected office to pay someone to remain silent about an issue that may affect the outcome of an election?”

55% of Trump voters, the majority, answered “it is a crime.”
Q42) “Do you think it is or is not a crime for a candidate to fail to report spending campaign money on payments to keep someone silent about an issue that may affect the outcome of an election?”

62% of Trump voters, the majority, answered “it is a crime.”

Dear MAGA:

As some of you are planning to put yourself in jeapardy for Trump’s sake, let’s remember what happened the last time he asked you to help him out of a jam he created.

1) A lot of you went to jail.
2) And he just went back to the golf course.

He didn’t pardon you.

He didn’t pay your legal bills.

He’s not going to help you get a job now that some of you have convictions on your record for helping him last time.

He’s not going to do anything for you that costs him anything.
Yes, he spouts his usual BS trying to make the people he tricked into committing crimes for him into some kind of heroes. That doesn’t cost him anything. Talk is cheap. He’ll blow smoke up your rear all day long.

There are a LOT of people in this country who were brought up to not be racists. And there are also a lot of former racists whose hearts have sincerely been changed.

But …
There are also some people who hid their racist attitudes as long as racism was out of style.

But as soon as a guy like Trump came around and made people no longer feel ashamed to show their ignorance, they took out their old attitudes like old clothes which came back into vogue
I find the hypocrisy and phoniness vomit-inducing …

The subset of people who talked about racial healing and loving all God’s children when those were the things that everybody in polite society said. But who went straight-up Christian Nationalist now.

MAGA: "It's not fair that they're prosecuting Trump for trying to hide an affair. It's persecution of conservatives!"

Us: "They prosecuted John Edwards for doing something similar. And Jack Smith was the prosecutor."

MAGA: "Oh, shut up!"
Dear MAGA:

Just because like five different people have responded with “but he was acquitted,” let me point this out:

The fact that Edwards was acquitted (on one count, hung jury on the others) doesn’t mean that the government didn’t indict and prosecute him. They did.
Edwards used campaign donations to try to hide his extramarital affair. And he was prosecuted for it. In his case, he actually could have done 30 years had he been convicted.
