2/ I have never felt the need to use the "only those you follow can reply" feature before. It's sad that it's come down to this. Some accts are clearly trolls when I check their TLs, but some are real accts who have been fed misinfo by the politicians or pundits they follow
3/ I'm going to try to open up this thread to replies again 🤞now that I'm not getting flooded with responses from suspect accts. Most of the responses seemed reasonable but when I checked their TLs, they had homophobic anti-Trudeau memes (for instance), or anti-vaxxers and so on
4/ I really think, considering the flood of responses from troll-like accts, that there must be troll farms being employed rn. I'd love to know who is behind this, who is funding it. If not Cdn, then this is an actual form of foreign interference unlike inuendo lobbed at Liberals
5/ And the accounts who respond with 'of course he'll claim innocence, it means nothing' have missed the point of my tweet and not read the letter. Han Dong notes his family's history and what happened to his father under Beijing's regime. That's what is compelling IMHO
6/ And I wish that the CPC leader acted more responsibly. He repeated Global's allegations w/o noting they were allegations during #QP last week, in the House of Commons. While parliamentarians have protected speech in the house, that shouldn't mean they can be irresponsible
7/ This new tactic by trolls where they post what sounds like reasonable comments so you ignore them & they are able to draw their followers to your post, is worrisome. If I weren't checking their TLs & seeing slurs towards minorities, anti-vax, etc, I wouldn't know to block them

1/ Here's @CBCNews' coverage of the Alberta premier's story (I'll thread the three clips that span the news segment and add a link to CBC's accompanying written story), @markusoff provides his expert opinion here in the second clip. @HannahThibedeau is the host.

For those who are responding to @cafreeland that this will cost taxpayers too much, they're overlooking the fact Canadians who haven't been able to afford dental care can end up in emergency rooms at hospitals or missing work due to dental-related health issues
2/ (Abbrev from CBC Mar 26, 2022) "[M]ed experts agree prevention best approach for Cdns' health, & to avoid straining med syst. "[B]acteria that infect gums can travel all the way thru body, cause heart attacks & stroke, for instance" ...
3/ ... (abbrev) "Dr Stephen, emerg physician [said] hosp med teams aren't typically equipped to tackle many instances of dental pain, even tho issues often get worse & lead to ppl coming back for help or falling seriously ill — potentially resulting in longer, pricier hosp stays"
FFS! PP just said Harper ended softwood lumber dispute within 3 mos of getting into office & as soon as Trudeau got in, had tariffs slapped on us & still there after 8 yrs.
Harper had Obama, Trudeau Trump. Then Biden inherited Trump's mess & there's been a pandemic 🤦♀️ #CdnPoli
3/ Also h/t to @mustangmadd who shared that article in this thread (see link), then Darby shared Tracey's post
Interesting thread as well, besides the article
I can hear loud chatter from CPC benches - all while NDP leader is trying to ask his question. He finally had to stop talking and wait. Poilievre and Scheer are visible on the screen throwing their heads back while smiling broadly (camera panned the room while Singh waited) #QP
2/ Do the CPC MPs and leader not understand how this looks to Canadians (outside of their base)? They appear unserious and like children.
3/ (Decided to back and make a screenshot from @CPAC_TV livestream of #QP)
The CC shown is part of the NDP Leader's question. Quite the juxtaposition with how the CPC leader is behaving - guess he doesn't care about our democracy ⤵️
Really glad to here @marcomendicino (Min of Public Safety), @JaimeBattiste (Parl Sec to Min of Crown-Indigenous Relations) & @KayabagaArielle (Chair of Black caucus) speaking about Liberals are moving to address over-representation of Indigenous, Black & racialized people
