George Washington
"A free people aught not only be armed and disciplined but should have sufficient arms and ammunition to maintain a status of independence from any who might attempt to abuse them, which would include their own government"
The #2A has absolutely nothing to do with hunting. It is to ensure #WeThePeople have the necessary means to defend ourselves against tyranny, and against any who would try to harm us out right.
"Assault Weapons ban" have never worked. That's exactly why Congress let the ban in the 90s expire and never renewed it. In the history of mankind, no one calling to disarm their own ppl were the good guys. That's a cold hard fact. Two of the worst shootings happened during the
90s assault weapons ban, the LA Bank of America shootout where the perps had full auto rifles, which were "banned" and there was the Columbine HS shooting were the perps used shotguns, a tec-9, and high point rifle. So if there's a ban, why this happen?
Easy, those intent and motivated to do harm will do harm. It doesn't matter what "laws" are in place. The current situations in CA, NY, IL, OR etc where there is rampant violent crime prove that criminals DON'T abide by the "Law".
Article 6, Clause 2 of our Constitution specifically says that it is the Supreme Law of our Republic. Moreover, the SCOTUS decision of Mabry vs Madison 1803 establishes that any "law/legislation" that is repugnant to the Constitution is null and void.
All they are trying to do is disarm you. That's it, plain and simple. All of the cold hard facts refute their arguments. Especially when they skew numbers. 60% of the gun related deaths in this country are SUICIDE. Not to mention that guns are used to save lives, ~1.5 mill x a yr
