On this day in 1943, before his Execution, Laxman Nayak said,
"IF THE SUN IS TRUE SO IS THE MOON, IT IS EQUALLY TRUE MOTHER INDIA GETS INDEPENDEDNT".

On this day 29/03/1943, #LaxmanNayak, another Gandhi Follower was Executed by British.

The folk hero of Tribals of Orissa met
his end at Behrampore jail whereas Gandhi & Nehru were never touched upon.

Laxman Nayak (B22/11/1899)
belonged to Bhuyan Tribe & his father was The chief of the tribe & used to work for Jeypore King who again was under British.

Laxman witnessed the atrocities committed by
British on the tribals, villagers & when he grew up he decided armed struggle is the only way to send them out.

Laxman Nayak organised the tribals against exploitation by the officials of Jeypore Samasthanam and its British masters successfully. This brought him recognition as
a potential tribal leader and the Congress admitted Laxman nayak into its fold.

Here he met many leaders & his
View changed from Free Bhuyan to Free Bharat,
Gandhi's Non Violence inspired him & he started carrying Charaka wherever he went.

Nayak crisscrossed across the
tribal belt of Orissa, Northern Part of Andhra, Telangana, Chattisgarh & conveyed the message of Nonviolence, Freedom
And abolition of Liquor, he brought a total change in the rural society.

And in 1942, Gandhi called for Quit India Movement, Laxman Nayak led a procession on
21st August 1942 an demonstrated peacefully in front of Mythili Police Station. But the police fired at the demonstrators
Indiscriminately, killing around 40 & injuring 100s (Another record says lesser number).

The wounded Laxman was implicated in the killing of a forest guard
& sessions judge Ramanathan sentenced Laxman to death.
He remained in Behrampore jail was waiting for his death.

The judge was a Hindu, held no trial, Congress had great lawyers, nobody came.
Thus ended a story of a misguided freedom fighter.
