while i dont particularly like dating discourse my advice to someone who finds himself in a situation like this is, this is one of those cases where you dont have to actually #believewomen
it feels like a stance first adopted deliberately by genxers who were betrayed by society at a young age and then unknowingly by millennials to whom nothing else ever bad ever happened
im serious about this because it feels under-considered while also perhaps somehow accounting for a lot of recent nonsense and i assumed there must be a canonical piece somewhere
>(older people) wow im so happy to see timmy settling down with a nice girl. glad he made it through his awkward fucked up phase
>harry potter theme music plays
>wedding party comes in wearing hogwarts house themed s&m gear
>(older people) well. this is. different
per sarah perry weddings are a ritual
of course demanding everyone wear white tie is unreasonable when means are constrained but street clothes are discordant with the entire exercise
"people like to associate themselves with historical events that were good. lets force them to associate themselves with historical events that were bad"
ok so one possibility is they feel bad about this but another outcome is maybe they decide the bad thing was good actually
anyway @garyyounge personally has much to answer for
there is nothing more racist in the literal sense of the word, as well as utterly deranged, than asserting that every person of a given race is responsible for every action taken by everyone else of the same race whether alive of dead and i wish people would fucking stop
