🧵1. 🔥BREAKING NEWS🔥: @airasia CEO @tonyfernandes_ recently held a 🧑✈️pilot's town hall meeting where he shared several key updates about the company's future.
However, the meeting has raised eyebrows given his ongoing involvement in several high-profile scandals.
2. Tan Sri @tonyfernandes_ is currently embroiled in the @Airbus bribery scandal (COUNT 1: MALAYSIA), which involved the company paying off officials in several countries, including Malaysia, to secure aircraft contracts.
3. TonyF has denied any wrongdoing, but the scandal has put a spotlight on his leadership and integrity. He has also been linked to the @RollsRoyce scandal, which involved the company bribing officials in several countries to secure engine contracts.
8. On 3 March 2022, the Court of Appeal unanimously dismissed six appeals by AirAsia Berhad and AirAsia X Berhad (collectively, AirAsia) relating to the Kuala Lumpur High Court's decision to award summary judgment in the total sum of approximately RM41.5 million.
9. The RM41.5M summary judgement was to Malaysia Airports (Sepang) Sdn Bhd (MA Sepang) for unpaid passenger service charges (PSC)!
Is this tantamount to effectively "refunding" @tonyfernandes_ for the RM41.5 million and more?
10. Adding to the controversy, TonyF was recently linked to @MuhyiddinYassin's Charity Golf event, with reports suggesting that he may have been a donor.
11. Furthermore, Tony and Bo Lingam are wanted in India for questioning with regards to money laundering allegations involving AirAsia India, a JV between @airasia and @TataCompanies.
12. Despite these scandals and Tony's questionable track record, TonyF claims that AirAsia plans to expand internationally, with 19 new destinations in China planned for 2023!
13. In addition, senior staff will be offered new stock options, and Tony may step down in two to three years, with Bo Lingam taking over.
Pic below is Tharumalingam Kanagalingam, better known as Bo Lingam. Wanted in India for questioning over moneylaundering.
14. It remains to be seen how these developments will play out for @airasia, but with significant changes on the horizon, it is clear that the airline is in for an uncertain future.
1/5: Parents, did you know that feeding your children with income earned through illegal or unethical means can have negative consequences on their moral and ethical development? It's important to instill in them values of integrity, responsibility, & respect for the rule of law.
2/5: Such income is often considered impure and unacceptable in many cultures and societies. Teaching children to distinguish between right and wrong, and to earn their livelihood through honest and ethical means, is an important aspect of their upbringing.
3/5: Feeding children with income earned through illegal or unethical means can also lead to a culture of dishonesty and corruption.
🧵1. 😲😤 Why is @fmtoday allowing writer @yaminvong / @VongYamin to use their platform when he has close ties to notorious fake invoice creator and money launderer, Dato' Samson Anand George AKA "Songlap Sammie"?
What happened to journalistic integrity, @fmtoday?
3. 🚘🤔@VongYamin, Samson & disgraced Madani of Malaysian Automotive Institute (MARii) created a "car show." Were car companies voluntarily participating or was @MARiiMalaysia, being an agency of @MITIMalaysia using its power to coerce them? @fmtoday, investigate this connection!
1/5: In 2017, former Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak appealed to Vietnam to allow Simon Rock, then MD of Sime Darby Motor Division, to return to Malaysia.
2/5: At the same time, @SimeDarbyGroup's Vietnamese unit EAC was found to be creating fake invoices and evading tax. The Vietnamese Ministry of Finance accused the sole importer of @BMW cars of several violations.
3/5: Despite the allegations of tax evasion and fake invoices, Malaysian media did not report the issue. Instead, they focused on @NajibRazak asking Vietnam to release Simon Rock (a British national), saying he "worked for a Malaysian company."
1. 🧵 Football in Malaysia was rocked by a bribery and corruption scandal in 1994!
At that time, more than 100 players and coaches suspected of fixing the results of Malaysia Cup and Premier League matches were detained by the authorities for interrogation.
@AdamAdli is CORRECT. We must rid sports of corruption.
@airasia crooks Execs 1&2 laundered RM200M+ of @airbus#bribes through SPORTS TEAMS (Football and Formula One?).
Just look at how the DIRTY Malaysian mainstream media attacks Adam Adli for speaking up against CORRUPTION!
2. Notice many misleading statements, headlines and comments more focused on ad hominems+manufactured outrage towards @AdamAdli rather than looking into examples of past corruption scandals in sports?
@AdamAdli@anwaribrahim 3. Many people r only reading press coverage of those who are busy bashing @AdamAdli. Few hv ACTUALLY read what he really said, which was clear, germane and non-defamatory.
Kudos to one of the FEW who has the cojones to speak up against corruption in 🇲🇾!
