A Greenbelt Alliance rep said we will need to keep people accountable with the official plan. Bill 23 will not solve the housing crisis. 1.5 million houses needed by 2031 is way behind. The wheels are coming off the bus. Market Definition for affordable housing isn’t reasonable. Image
The rep from Greenbelt Alliance noted Doug Ford hasn’t been showing up to work and Tory supporters are leaving. Image
City Council member Deb Chapman said there is plenty of room to grow in the currently approved areas. Ford is stripping powers from Municipalities. He is taking conservation authorities out of planning. His plan is a profit driven housing plan. Image

Live at the anti-sprawl rally in Waterloo Ontario!
People gathered in droves to reject Doug Ford’s attacks on sustainable development. We want the Greenbelt protected, our farmland, water and conservation lands protected, we want affordable housing to serve communities not hedge fund driven single apartments.
We want a future to hand down to our kids with clean water, healthy air and biodiversity protected!

@ElsipogtogBand Acadians never had reserves called as such because our land grants predated Canada and we were like slaves to the Charles Robin Jersey Fishing Company. Pommenville aka Sommerville created the Elsipogtog Reserve. This grave is seen in my village in Caraquet.
We all go back a long long way. Our families are interwoven branches of the same tree. Glad to see your folks are still alive and kicking. 😊❤️
I am of Caraquet and there is a great film about what my family survived here. View 52 minutes for the censored history of Canada. nfb.ca/film/tintamarr…

Electric cars need metal to build, gravel for roads, salt to de-ice which puts farmland & potable water at risk. Why not make public transit free to move more people with less cars to serve all people from kids to elderly and reduce smog that way?
The goal of transit is to go from A to B. Allowing remote jobs and education for those who want it, we can reduce need. Make internet available to all to facilitate it. That is do-able. It is low hanging fruit. Make life affordable for all people to succeed.
