A few weeks ago, former Israeli PM Ehud Olmert called for an international “boycott” of the current Israeli PM Netanyahu.
Former Israeli PM Olmert called on the “international community,” particularly Israel’s “friends,” to “speak out in full force against the Israeli government” because it is “anti Israel.” He hoped the US and UK would “reevaluate their relationship with the government of Israel.”
Olmert, accused of horrific war crimes against Indigenous Palestinians in Gaza, also called on leaders to “show contempt for the prime minister of Israel” and to “boycott” him because Netanyahu is “about to destroy the democratic and ethical foundations of the state of Israel.”
Israeli leaders’ colonial hypocrisy and delusions seem to be limitless. Desperately striving to save their worn mask of colonial-settlers’ “democracy,” they try to hide the “original sin” of ethnic cleansing of Indigenous Palestinians and to erase us from the present.
It was the “liberal” Zionists, after all, who perpetrated the 1948 Nakba of planned dispossession of Palestinians, destruction of hundreds of villages, massacres and rape. “Liberal” oppressors are not better ones. Settler colonialism in all forms is patently unethical.
The BDS movement, while reiterating its call for pressure on the hypocritical International Criminal Court to prosecute Olmert and all Israeli leaders for war crimes, agrees that Israel’s far-right government and PM must face international “contempt” and “boycott.”
But so must Israel’s entire regime of settler-colonialism and apartheid.
According to @PpsmoMedia, the Palestinian Prisoners Society: “This is part of a systematic [Israeli] policy of medical negligence and delays in providing treatment, which all the [Palestinian] prisoners are exposed to, not just Nasser.”
.@Addameer - Prisoner Support and Human Rights Association reports that since 1967, 233 Palestinian prisoners have died in apartheid Israel’s jails, including 74 who died as a direct result of systematic Israeli medical negligence.
The French retailer @Carrefour announced a new partnership with the Israeli company @Electra Consumer Products and its subsidiary @Yenot Bitan which operates in illegal settlements in the occupied Palestinian territory.
This deal indicates Carrefour’s complete disregard for its responsibilities under international law, opting to enhance business profits from stolen land and human rights violations.
.@Société Générale, @BNP Paribas, @Groupe BPCE, @Crédit Agricole and @HSBC are of the biggest creditors of @Carrefour with loans and underwriting amounting to USD 7.49 billion in the period between January 2019 and August 2022.
.@VolvoCEGlobal machinery is used by Israeli occupation forces to demolish Pal homes and pillage of natural resources which Palestinians are systematically prevented access to, including water and land.
Since May 2022, Volvo’s heavy machinery has been used to carry out the demolition of Palestinian communities homes, most recently in Al-Fakheet and Al-Markez villages, in Masafer Yatta.
German @Deutsche Bank, Swedish @SEBGroup and French @BNP Paribas are the top creditors to @VolvoGroup between 2019 and 2022, providing millions worth of loans and underwriting.
The top 5 creditors to companies actively involved in the Israeli settlement enterprise are @BNPParibas, @HSBC, @SG_etvous, @DeutscheBank and @Barclays. They provided $171.4 billion in loans and underwritings.
Government Pension Fund Global (Norway), @CreditAgricole (France), @GroupeBPCE (France), @DeutscheBank (Germany) and @LegalandGeneral (UK) are the top 5 investors in these companies’ shares and bond holdings worth $ 44.73 billion.
Israeli settlements are a fundamental component of Israel’s apartheid and colonial regime over the Palestinian people.
Greenwashing is a marketing spin that is used by countries and corporations deceptively promoting themselves as climate friendly to cover up the substantial climate harm that their policies and practices cause.
Greenwashing exacerbates the climate emergency as well as social and ecological injustices. Israel uses greenwashing to promote a climate-friendly image to cover up its decades-old regime of military occupation, settler-colonialism and apartheid.
Aside from apartheid Israel's regime of violent ethnic cleansing of Indigenous Palestinians and destruction of lives and livelihoods, Israel has also systematically devastated the fauna and flora of historical Palestine.
Yesterday marked the 105th anniversary of the #BalfourDeclaration, a fateful, colonial statement by the British government that paved the way for establishing a Jewish supremacist settler-colony in Palestine.
The Balfour Declaration laid the foundation for the 1948 #Nakba, the #EthnicCleansing of between 750,000 and 1,000,000 Indigenous Palestinians at the hands of Zionist militias, and subsequently Israeli forces.
The ongoing Palestinian Nakba entails Israel’s relentless land theft, denial of human rights & legalized racial discrimination, made possible by massive military, economic & political support from the U.S., EU, U.K. & other complicit states, international orgs & corporations.
