THREAD: Major updates in the allegations of theft/fraud against CSPOA leader Richard Mack. Today it was confirmed that an attorney for America's Frontline Doctors (Free Speech Foundation) filed theft/fraud charges against Mack--who was serving as president of AFLDS. Image
According to the AFLDS attorney who filed the charges, Lauren Bradford, Mack was removed as president on April 1 by the board. He was ordered to return the money. He did not, according to oversight board member Kevin Jenkins.
Bradford also noted that the board voted in a new board of directors: Dr. Stephen Guffanti, MD, Dr. Cordie Williams, DC, and Dr. Aaron Lewis, PhD. The new board named Jenkins as the new AFLDS CEO.
On today's CSPOA Posse webinar, unsurprisingly Mack did not want to talk about the AFLDS mishigas but did mention he's been visited by a police officer who told him "What a mess."
Meanwhile, Simone Gold still controls the AFLDS website. If you email the site, you'll get a reply from a comms director that was allegedly fired months ago when Gold was removed from the board over allegations of misappropriating millions from the COVID denial group.
While legal troubles are mounting, Richard Mack and his far-right group CSPOA are scheduled to holding trainings with Texas sheriffs later this month. LEOs who attend receive 8 hours of TCOLE credit for being fed lies about how the sheriff can ignore laws they don't like. ImageImage

The exhaustively debunked election denial film, 2,000 Mules, has inspired many far-right groups to take up ballot drop box vigilantism. Surveillance, armed patrols, and intimidation of voters are real threats this cycle.

Among those organizing such efforts is Matt Shea.
In Arizona, the far-right paramilitary group, Lions of Liberty, launched what they're calling "Operation: Drop Box." With the help of a supportive sheriff, they "plan on watching the ballot boxes throughout Yavapai County."
In Michigan, a coalition of Tea Party, COVID Denial, and other far-right groups (including the LaRouchies) are all part of the Michigan Election Protection Team. They're trying to turn out 5,000 for the election.

My biggest takeaways from today's #CPAC2022 coverage are:

1. how dominant the anti-woke message has become and how it fuses COVID denial, racism denial, anti-trans, anti-sex ed, anti-public schools message into one big bundle of white victimhood.
2. how they're trying to sweep Jan. 6 under the rug and reframe the conversation to be about a "faulty" 2020 election and push for voter suppression laws. That Stop the Steal figures like Jenny Beth Martin, and Senators like Hawley and Cruz headlined are signs of further trouble.
3. How, like we'd anticipated, anti-immigrant politics are emerging just in time for the mid-terms. The myth of the border is used as a way to shift the blame on everything from crime rates to the opioid epidemic onto immigrants.

Thread: a critique of the WaPost attempt to graft "economic anxiety" into the Capitol insurrection discussion.

Here's the article in question that's been trending.

1. It was hard not to laugh out loud at an "economic anxiety" piece centered around a woman who arrived in DC in a private jet.
2. This was a very small sample size, even among those who have been identified, let alone the mass of individuals who stormed the barricades. It's classic cherry-picking to make a point that the overall data does not support.

Wondering where the anti-mask fervor is generated? The lastest @IREHR data on far-right groups opposed to #COVID19 restrictions found 227 groups with 254,534 members explicitly dedicated to the anti-mask cause.

This includes Facebook groups like "Masks Are A Choice - Orange County", "MASKS ARE FOR THE SHEEP AND THE SLAVES OF THE ZIONIST JEWS!" and "People against wearing masks! AKA, we're not sheep!"
Of 1114 groups on the list, 227 are explicitly anti-mask focused. They incubate much of the anti-mask propaganda that gets pumped into the larger constellation of "#reopen" groups (814 groups, 2.5 million members), then fed into the mainstream.

Thread: more evidence of the presence of the "Boogaloo Bois" - those itching to kick off a bloody Civil War II - in the growing number of far-right "ReOpen" protest groups.

Here's the conversation inside ReOpen Texas. "Bigigloo" is just another name for the "Boogaloo." Here you have #ReOpen activists begging to start a bloody armed conflict.
Similar "Bigigloo" memes have been circulating in the #ReOpen group, Pennsylvanians Against Excessive Quarantine.
