“Symptoms of PCNS (post Covid-19 neurological syndrome) mimic some of the symptoms we see after a stroke and younger adults seem to be at particular risk.”
“I felt totally lost in the system after COVID-19. I have not been able to return to work as a health care worker with full capacity, even 14 months after my acute illness.”
“Twenty six therapy sessions and anti-depressants did not help me at all. Persistent fatigue and brain fog has destroyed me and my young family.”
“I have had three normal MRI brain scans, and four neurologists told me they could find nothing seriously wrong with me. I am at a loss…” (PCNS patient).

“As the video explains, my return to rowing from long covid sadly hasn't worked out. Having rehabbed for a season (sept 2021 - 2022) my health took a bad turn at the end of last year when I attempted to rejoin the full time GB program.”
“For people interested in the specifics of long covid - it was not the long covid fatigue that returned but a whole host of different symptoms, most of which I did not have previously.”
🚨 Today I sent an email to my MP about #LongCovid to help spread awareness for #LongCovidAwarenessDay. I urge everyone else in the UK with Long Covid, and those that know somebody with Long Covid, to do the same. Let’s make some noise! 💥

Here are some excerpts from mine that can be used/modified by others that don’t have the time and/or energy to write their own in full…

Introduction: Long COVID is the overarching name for a wide variety of disorders that may follow the diagnosis of acute SARS-COVID-19 infection and persist for weeks to many months. Nearly every organ system may be affected.
Methods: We report nine patients suffering with Long COVID for 101 to 547 days. All exhibited significant perturbations of their immune systems, but only one was known to be immunodeficient prior to the studies directed at evaluating them for possible treatment.
#LongCovid is a mass disabling event happening in real time. Where are all the investigative journalists producing compelling pieces for the screen? 🧵
It’s a story of millions of people losing their once vibrant lives to a vile illness with no effective treatments or cure.
A story intertwined with an older decades long story of post-infection chronic illnesses that have been ignored with millions left abandoned and mistreated.
It’s a story of a disinterested and misinformed public.
A story of medical gaslighting and neglect.
A story of political disinterest and ignorance.
A story of denial, abuse and minimisation. Where sick people intersect with ideologues and conspiracy theorists
