City Power customers have been experiencing many outages after loadshedding restorations and prolonged outages due to the higher stages of blackouts.

Loadshedding Stage 6 is causing more shocks and challenges for City Power, its systems and infrastructure, and by extension, the customers.
The main reason that is causing these trips is due to overloaded circuits. Simplified, tripping means the interruption in electricity supply which occurs when protective relays sense a fault, either from overload, equipment failure, cable fault or other factors.
City Power Hursthill Service Delivery Centre (SDC) has commended the business
community of Amalgam who have gone out of their way to assist in safeguarding critical electricity infrastructure.
@CityofJoburgZA@JoburgMPD Hursthill SDC held a Customer Day with the local business forum today, to address some of their most pressing service delivery concerns - as part of a broader client engagement programme.
@CityofJoburgZA@JoburgMPD City Power used this opportunity to also highlight the need for revenue
collection - which is key for Infrastructure development, maintenance, and continued
provision of uninterrupted power supply.
We're aware of an unplanned power interruption affecting #Tsutsumani#FarEastBank & surrounds.

City Power is glad to announce that power is back at Nancefield Substation. The widespread outage was caused by cable theft which happened during loadshedding in the early hours of Wednesday (12 April).^LP
Power was not restored after loadshedding in a number of areas particularly Nancefield Industrial and some parts of Eldorado Park and Kliptown.
Upon investigation it was found that there had been cable theft on two distributors during loadshedding which resulted in both Nancefield and Eldorado Park Substations switching off.
