Middleton runs the Maley thesis, that Dutton as a police is right across police as a solution to sexual violence. (Police have always had resources to address sexual violence.) #Insiders

the Coalition position is clearly for another RC. Senator Nampijinpa Price says she has been campaigning on this for a long time - to no avail, apparently - and that it is *the media* making it all about Dutton. #Insiders

she has no reason to believe that [foster] carers are making up stories about kids being returned/placed with kin, says Senator Nampijinpa Price, and that some of these foster parents are themselves police. #Insiders

another Royal Commission to listen to the foster parent-police because they want their voices to be heard on Indigenous kids who are not revered the way Grace Tame is listened to [abbr] - Senator Nampijinpa Price. #Insiders

what needs to happen? In circumstances where human rights are [not] being upheld we need to remove the kinship aspect, says the Senator, we should not be putting kids back with kin. #Insiders

they have bipartisan support for money in child protection, Price asserts, and she could get behind a referendum on upholding human rights of kids regardless of racial heritage, says Price. Does she support the idea of a local Voice? #Insiders

yes a regional and remote Voice says Price. An all-Indigenous voice? That’s the idea, says Price. But you oppose Indigenous-only structures? asks Speers. Well the remote area people (lists remote community place names) are different to city people says Price. #Insiders

but how would the regional and remote voices get through to Canberra? Would it be thru a national Voice? Nampijinpa Price cites her research at the CIS and says she always supports and fights for regional and remote voices. #Insiders

your colleague Senator Liddle says the local voices will need to be heard in Canberra thru a national body do you agree? Nampijinpa Price cites the non-Uluṟu Morrison-Wyatt process, which she calls Calma-Langton, on legislated voices. #Insiders

should there be a minister for Indigenous Affairs? Yes. Why? Well she is all about working hard and fighting for people. Nothing on the public money and campaign comms with Morrison and Nampijinpa Price in May last year. #Insiders

back to Panel. The latest mail on her role? Maybe an envoy, she is a first term senator. Middleton walks thru the Liberal Party room confusion on legislated local, regional Voices and whether they really oppose a [legislated] national voice (the Morrison position) #Insiders

Dutton can not really support a [legislated] national voice when he wants to campaign a for the No vote in the referendum by shouting Canberra voice [paraphrased] (not that hypocrisy and inconsistency are priorities for Coalition politicians - Ed) #Insiders

missing from all the chitter chatter about constitutional experts is any mention of Prof Davis who from memory told the inquiry she did not want to amplify misinformation about the proposed constitutional amendment. #Insiders
