Yesterday, I travelled from Ternipol, Ukraine, one of my favourite Ukrainian sanctuaries throughout this war (I would recommend to anyone a visit here after the war, it's a v nice city, full of history).
I stopped off on the #Zhytomyr highway after passing several⬇️
kilometres of burnt-out and bombed-out buildings and did a short video clip. I got back to my Hotel last night n couldn't help but think, what was this place, what was it like before. Well, curiosity got the better of me, and here's what I found out.
The place I went to was
3/
Babushkin Sad Hotel, a 4 Star Hotel with Pool & Spa.
Anyway, I decided to make a thread once I found out more about the history here, and here are some before and after pictures of the main building...
5/
Here we can see the once "Glorious Fountain", which has remarkably stayed 95% intact...
6/
Inside, it was also once a very impressive place to spend a weekend, away from the hustle and bustle of Kyiv's city centre (I'm now wondering how I missed this little Gem of a place Pre-War).....
7/
And now, well, now the inside/outside looks like this, what's remarkable here, of course, is this toilet basin not only survived the artillery, it survived the fire and the russian Orc's stealing it (LOL).....
8/
On the outside the whole area has been completely sprayed with Artillery Fire, I didn't see one area that escaped the senseless destruction.......
9/
None of the surrounding businesses escaped either, here is some shots of the Petrol Station on the E50 High Way next to the Hotel....
10/
And adjacent to the Petrol Station was a Car Service Garage....
11/
A lot of the cars are still where they met their end around 1 year ago....
/12
This is just one stop I made yesterday, there must 100's if not 1000's of properties in the Kyiv area that have been destroyed like this but today shows everyone the story of the "Babushkin Sad Hotel" and the surrounding Business.....
/13
Finally, I'm going to sign off this thread with some outside pictures of the Hotel in its former Glorry😍
/14
I wish the owners of all 3 businesses I photographed and videoed yesterday my best wishes to restore their businesses sometime soon, I hope they all remain safe and no one got hurt.
Regards to the hotel, it's a particular tragedy, and I hope when they reopen they remove
/15
the word...... "sad" from the name.😃
I'm off to Irpin this afternoon, I'm sort of stuck here until Monday so I can get the transmission on the car looked at on Monday. Dentists, Lawyers etc too.

In today's update thread we shall recap on where exactly we are, the last 5 or 6 weeks have been fairly full-on for all of us, myself and @Peter_Dads_Army spent a huge amount of man-hours collecting these cars, lifting up the bonnets, doing a few bush fixes and getting
3/30
garage assistance where it was necessary.
As we already said two of the cars are now delivered and are with our aid partner, two more were also transported to Ukraine and are currently undergoing scheduled maintenance before going to #Donbas.
