Hirschhausen was paid by the Foreign Office for a moderation in April 2021, which focused on the topic of Corona. The event was titled "Is Covid vaccine globally equitable? Covax and German Vaccine Diplomacy."

The exact amount of the honorarium is unclear, as the list of compensated journalists only included the total compensation.

However, on average, journalists received 1923.12 euros from the German Foreign Office.
