Honestly the whole Miles Morales train IA ridiculous... Miles only works if Peter is dead and the other Spiders around... which corporate will never do because Miles isn't really more of a seller then any of them... that's why he always gets new #1s . No, he's not the best. Sigh.
Or May Parker, Peter's daughter... she's honestly way better then Miles.
Constantly getting new #1s is not good or a sign of success, it means the previous books weren't selling good so corporate decided to cancel and start it all over again with a new team hoping it works.
Name me one time Miles made it to 100 or 50 issues after being put into the Main universe.
I'll wait. 😑

Honestly I don't get why the Simpsons constantly tries to keep up with the times because Honestly it has created a lot of episodes that haven't aged well, they should have kept it in a 90s like world and brought in Parodies of the modern stuff but for that era and world.
For example in my fictional world it has a 60s Retro-future astethics. And they have a thing similar to stream and podcasts... but instead of IPhones and YouTubes.
Most use a pirate radio and TV system to communicate with the audience and sell their products.
Which in the pirate radio most Teens of the world use it to talk shit on movies and do reviews like youtubers, but mostly tear lists of things...
I also have a Patreon parody that involves a mail system and product placement.

I'm talking world AESTHETICS, style and tech... I'm not talking cultural and historical.
I'm saying make your own version f earth built it with your view... mine would have a 60s to 80s vibe like the incridibles did with emphasis on the silver to semi-Bronze age of comics...
While also having the world evolved different technology and culture wise because it's a world with God-like beings, magic and aliens around as common knowledge...
It would have cars, clothing, and slang from the era... but also be clear that it's not the age...
It will be earth... but not our earth, their earth, with their laws, cultures and rules of science and world.
It would be an Atompunk like world, like Futurama, Thunderbird (The original) and Captain Scarlett...
A different world that simply shares the AESTHETICS...
Why Terry McGinnis succeeded where Miles Morales constantly and repeatedly fails over and over again none stop.
Okay, here's some history, when Batman Beyond was gonna come out many were pissed at the fact that a teenager was gonna replace Bruce, because most thought it would be horrible, since most teen shows tend to be, but... a miracle happened. It was good.
A total of 10 outa 10 king.
The show was so well written, and Terry was so well explored that the Fandom started to love the kid and as it went... he became a worthy successor to Bruce's vat symbol, even at the same leagues as Dick Grayson and Tim Drake... because they actually tried with him.
Teenage boys, and they know exactly what they're doing there in the art department because it has to be something that attracts the hormonal younglings to come back and buy more and more with stories that boost their confidence and give them hope while showing sexy ladies...
And their success worldwide shows that they know their audience and are not dumbasses.
It's so great that it's universally loved, unlike modern comics of which aren't even worth being used as toilet paper.

Agreed, I prefer effective, terrifying and serious villains that actually manage to succeed in the story, because not only they are a clear threat, they give better light on the hero when they actually manage to win.
That's why villains like Soundwave and Xanatos are so...
They don't joke around, they are pure threats that scream "If the hero messes up just once around them they will die." plus they don't really lose, they only win with certain inconveniences that most of the time they let slid because it's so insignificant.
Most modern cartoon villains are too jokey and lose so easy that you never fear them or actually have a need to remember them...
But for the likes of Xanatos... he doesn't joke and because of that he's so iconic that he even got his own damn TROPE!
