The aim of this exercise was to introduce a consistent style across the TJ ecosystem and to also establish a cohesive brand architecture, that could champion TJ brand philosophy and values.
The visual makeover is the first step...
Trader Joe now has a clear brand direction that feels truly cohesive.
With marketing at TJ, we've definitely strayed away from really shouting about the genuine vision of TJ and the values that are held close to his heart.
The revitalisation renews that opportunity to do so 🎯
I want to share 3 key tips for branding 💡
These are tips that we think are incredibly important in the Web3 space. Tips that we've always prioritized with Trader Joe pre-revitalisation, but also what we'll ensure we double down on post revitalisation.
1️⃣ Brand Mascot
A mascot is the face of your brand that carries your philosophy and emits your values. Brand mascots help to create a genuine connection with users.
Have one?
➡️ Make sure it aligns with your brand values
Don't have one?
➡️ You absolutely need one
2️⃣ Brand Codification
Every single piece of comms, should include your distinct brand features.
For Trader Joe: Red Hat, White Beard and Volly.
This is key. Codification improves your brand awareness and salience, helping to keep it top of mind and perceived as 'strong'.
3️⃣ In-House Artists/G Designers
Your marketing team is not well equipped without in-house resources that can provide either clean graphics or illustrations that bring your brand to life.
Keeping this specialty in-house, ensures perfect familiarity with your brand guidelines.
These are 3 tips I often see many projects not really adhering to but if delivered with consistency, can really improve your brand strength and help to carry your marketing efforts further.

Governance was launched just under 2 months ago to push forward with progressive decentralization plans of the TJ Core Team.
I'm personally really enjoying seeing Governance start to flourish into new areas, let's explore the progress...🌅
🌊 LB Mandate
TJ Core Team opens new LB markets, based on community request that follows a successful on-chain vote via @SnapshotLabs
This is a very focused and clear mandate, to help introduce the process of Governance for the TJ Community.
"Why not permissionless LB markets?"
Yes, ideally markets are permissionless on LB and users can open pool. However feature development takes time and this directed mandate is an ideal bootstrap for a governance community culture...
The popular way in #DeFi to earn rewards via emissions is to either single sided stake or provide passive liquidity (Farms).
Neither of these are suitable mechanisms for Liquidity Book.
So, we’ve built something new:
The LB Rewards Program 🌊📘 ...
The LB Rewards program is essentially a way to provide incentives, in a very efficient and effective manner.
Rewards are only provided if a Liquidity Provider (Maker) is genuinely working to ‘make the market’
‘Making a market’ on LB is providing liquidity in and around the active bin.
Liquidity Providers doing that are increasing and maintaining market up-time (facilitating trading) and also increasing liquidity depth around active bins (helping to facilitate larger volume trades).
