Narayanan Vaghul, described as Bhismah Pitamaha of Indian Banking has written a memoir, aptly named "Reflections"
2 stories...
1 An extreme example of the nexus between politicians and industrialists was the removal of RK Talwar as
State Bank of India chairman, when Talwar refused to entertain a cement company’s request for loan on grounds of mismanagement, little did he know that the industrialist concerned was a friend of Sanjay Gandhi.
The latter asked the minister of state for finance to make sure
that the loan was granted immediately. But Talwar refused. Gandhi ordered Talwar’s sacking, but there was one problem—under the State Bank of India Act, the chairman could not be removed before the expiry of the term of his office unless they were proven guilty of misconduct.
It is said that Nadir Shah looted Delhi so much that all taxes were eliminated in his home country Persia for the next three years. He looted Peacock throne, Koh-i-Noor diamond and emptied all gems, diamonds and jewellery of the imperial treasury.
Sample these words by J. T. Sunderland: "Nearly every kind of manufacture or product known to the civilized world—nearly every kind of creation of man's brain and hand, existing anywhere, and prized either for its utility or beauty—had long been produced in India.
The Mughal Lovers defends them often by claiming that Mughals gave everything to India.
The Christian Apologists claim, they brought Civilisation to India.

Let's not forget that Maneka and Varun were thrown out of the house by
Indira Gandhi.
The Gandhi family shared a household & lived at the prime minister's office at Delhi's Safdarjung. Rahul, was born on June 19, 1970, while Varun was born on March 13, 1980.
Spanish writer Javier Moro details the events of the night in his book 'The Red Sari'.
On the morning of March 28, 1982, Indira came home "determined to be obeyed". Maneka's greeting was met with a curt “We’ll talk later” from Indira.
Maneka locked herself in her room till a servant came to her bearing a tray with her food on it.
Two heroes emerged after Jallianwala Bagh Massacre.
1 is Now Celebrated Sardar Udham Singh
2 is Conveniently Erased #SankaranNair.
Thread 🧵 on the 1st and the only Malayali Congress President who took the fight against British in
Queens backyard.
Immediately after Jallianwalabagh, Sir C. Sankaran Nair writes in his autobiography: “Almost every day I was receiving complaints, personal and by letters, of the most harrowing description of the massacre at Jallianwalla Bagh at Amritsar and the martial law
administration & I found that Lord Chelmsford [the Viceroy] approved of what was being done in Punjab. That, to me, was shocking.”
The effects of his resignation were immediate. Censorship of the press was immediately abolished and martial law in Punjab was terminated.
