-favoring telecommuting work
-transitioning online public administration services, such as education, justice, social and health care

At #UPR43, Traian Hristea, @MAERomania State Secretary, said Romania🇷🇴 had supported people displaced by the war in Ukraine by
-providing safe spaces & including them in it community
-allocating resources to ensure their basic needs
-amended or adopted laws to better welcome them

At #UPR43, Traian Hristea, @MAERomania State Secretary, said Romania🇷🇴 had adopted/renewed national strategies on
-combating corruption
-promoting equal opportunities for women+men
-social inclusion, including the Roma minority
-reducing poverty
-rights of persons w/ disabilities

-Convention for the Protection of All Persons from Enforced Disappearance
-Violence+Harassment Convention
-Kampala Amendments to the Rome Statute on the crime of aggression

-a National Strategy for preventing and combating antisemitism, xenophobia, radicalization and hate speech
-a National Strategy for the Sustainable Development

At #UPR43, Traian Hristea, @MAERomania State Secretary, said #Romania🇷🇴 had reinforced its fight against human trafficking by
-establishing a National Anti-Trafficking Coordinator
-adopting a new national mechanism for identifying and referring victims

At #UPR43, States commended #Romania🇷🇴 on
-the implementation of recommendations from the last UPR working cycle.
-strengthening the national system for the promotion and protection of Human Rights.

At #UPR43, States commended #Romania🇷🇴 on its efforts to prevent discrimination against
-vulnerable groups (women, persons with disabilities and children)
-minorities, including Roma people

At #UPR43, States commended #Romania🇷🇴 on the approval of the
-National Strategy for preventing and combating antisemitism, xenophobia, radicalization & hate speech
-Anti-corruption strategy and on increasing the capacity of the country to combat corruption

At #UPR43 States recommended that #Romania🇷🇴 combats human trafficking by
-training law enforcement officials & prosecutors
-providing rehabilitation & legal assistance to victims
-enhancing protection of victims with special attention to women & girls

At #UPR43 States recommended that #Romania🇷🇴:
-takes additional steps to combat corruption
-ratifies the
1/Convention on the protection of the rights of all migrant workers & members of their families
2/Convention on the Protection of all Persons from Enforced Disappearance

At #UPR43 States recommended that #Romania🇷🇴 :
-enhances access to sexual and reproductive health services
-provides access to contraception and safe termination of pregnancy
-increases access to early sexual and reproductive education in schools

At #UPR43 States recommended that #Romania🇷🇴 continues protecting victims of domestic violence by
-providing access to legal assistance & shelter for victims
-training public officials & social workers
-modifying the legal definition of consent in the context of sexual violence

At #UPR43 States recommended that #Romania🇷🇴:
-continues taking measures towards quality inclusive education with attention to children with disabilities & Roma children
-provides legal protection and family rights to LGBTQ+ persons & legally recognizes their gender identities

At #UPR43 States recommended that #Romania🇷🇴:
-redoubles efforts to combat hate speech targeting religious groups & minorities
-continues working to close the gap between urban & rural areas by improving infrastructures & enhancing education and health services

The Universal Periodic Review of #Romania🇷🇴 has now concluded.
