Arsenal vs Chelsea

Tactical Analysis:

Not as routine of a game for Arsenal as it may seem given the away side’s form.

Gabriel has been very good this season, but one of his weaknesses is when a player is very direct towards him and the areas he protects.

With…

#FPL
Zincheko’s inverted nature the RW should certainly have a few opportunities to exploit this.

Aubameyang shouldn’t actually be too mobile in this game, force at least one of the CB’s to stay central and create isolated instances for the wingers.
However, Chelsea aren’t well versed in this system.

The 4-3-3 is the the hardest formation to play well and when you get it wrong, the are consequences catastrophic.

Trossard’s obvious advantage in the duel against Azpilicueta will force the RCB to play sidedly wider than…
usual and the RCM to be very disciplined in his progression up the field.

This allows Xhaka, should he want to drop deeper, a lot of time on the ball.

Breaking the first line of Chelsea’s press on that side shouldn’t be too difficult.

Numerical advantages can be create with…
Zinchenko.

Sterling and Chillwell as a combination are a key to Chelsea’s success tonight.

Sterling should stay narrower than he has in past games to apply pressure on Kiwior. Test how well he reads the game from a positional perspective.

Sterling is good at exploiting…
space, his movement is underrated (better than Rashford’s, but the Manchester Utd man has better acceleration to make up for it).

How well Chelsea press Odegaard is the key to which full-back will be able to overlap their winger more.

Quality players all round, should be a… twitter.com/i/web/status/1…
Not going to try to call a result, I think it’s finely balanced.

Both teams to score is what I’m fairly confident in (and Kepa having a somewhat busy night).

The keepers will be key.

Gameweek 35 - Thread

Including:

💎 Manchester City assets
💎 Benching dilemmas
💎 FWD’s and MID’s
💎 Captaincy
💎 Preparing for DGW36 (which assets to sell now)

Nearly there…🧵

#FPL Image
I wouldn’t be particularly aggressive about my moves this week.

Having two free transfers for DGW36 will be very helpful.

Even if you only use one, you can have 2FT’s for DGW37.

Most teams are fairly well set up, just about trimming the edges.
💎 Manchester City assets

My preferred combination by some way is Haaland, Stones and a MID.

If you have Ederson then so be it, it’s extremely difficult to remove him in a move which would genuinely be worth your while.

I expect Grealish to be benched this week, as such…

💎 Take a broader perspective (Very important)

This Gameweek will likely be the biggest swing of the remaining season.

I appreciate that.

However, it’s not the only Gameweek left and from what I’ve seen there’s a little too much focus on it.

As an example, Manchester City…

🧵

Key to determining Kevin De Bruyne’s value as an asset:

1. The system (3-2-2-3 or 4-2-2-2)

Given Gundogan formed a double pivot with Rodri, I’d say it was more of a 4-2-2-2 with how disciplined Grealish & Silva were yesterday.

Guardiola spoke very highly of…

#FPL Image
De Zerbi’s build up patterns.

He then implemented it yesterday to by pass the Arsenal press by baiting them with the double No.6 pivot.

The second & last part of that pattern is the Striker (Haaland) drops alongside the No.10 (KDB) to link-up.

This gives KDB the opportunity…
to run off Haaland.

He then becomes an unbelievable asset, and nothing short.

With the 3-2-2-3, he’s good but no where as good for FPL.

Simply because Haaland becomes much more of the focus.

Haaland is in the box more and not dropping deep regularly + Gundogan is more…

Short 🧵 (MCI vs ARS thoughts)

If Arteta persists with the same system with Holding in this team, respectfully, it will be very difficult for Arsenal to get a result.

Not only could Haaland have a field day but Holding’s ability to break the line of the initial press…

#FPL Image
& the mid-block with his passing is significantly worse than Saliba’s.

It has caused Odegaard to make slight adjustments to his game, including dropping deeper at times to receive and start/increase the tempo of the initial phases of play.

Arsenal have still been good going…
forward, but you want your most creative player further up the pitch.

It appears Arteta doesn’t have numerous solutions available, at least not obvious one’s.

Moving White, Partey & Xhaka out of position and starting Jorginho are potentials but it’s not exactly the most ideal…

There’s a surprise in store…🧵

“There’s a surprise in store”

The reason I say that is because this Gameweek is being quite under played.

I’m thoroughly looking forward to it.

There’s a lot of hype around DGW34, naturally, but by then most teams will have converged to a similar nature.

However, now we have… twitter.com/i/web/status/1…
💎 Kane, Maddison, Martinelli (& Arsenal) - Oversold?

Mixed bag.

Kane?

On the whole, I’d say yes.

The most transferred out asset this week by some way (234k, more than double the amount of Toney who’s 2nd).

I fully appreciate the arguments for selling him and that it’s…

The section for those without a Free Hit will include:

💎 How many players are ideal?
💎 What assets should you consider selling?

Whilst it may seem like it, not everyone has or is using their Free Hit chip. There’s good ground to be made up this week.

Let’s get into it…
💎 Liverpool & Arsenal

I’ll start with Liverpool.

The first locked player in this team is the captain, Mohammed Salah.

He’s the best RW in the world and he’s the best RW this league has ever seen.

He’s blanked once since GW22 (missed pen vs BOU) and is coming off a brace.
