-implemented a program to trains parents in alternative forms of discipline
-established a family law committee to support the creation of a family court

-makes further steps to prevent all forms of discriminations against women & girls
-redefines marital rape and consent by reforming the sexual offence act

-adopts a comprehensive legislation to protect the LGBTQ+ community
-takes steps to address hate crimes & protect human rights defenders
-works toward ending xenophobia & stigmatisation of migrants, refugees & stateless persons

At #UPR43, States recommended that the #Bahamas🇧🇸
-redoubles efforts to protect children from all forms of violence
-strengthens the protection of the rights of people with disabilities
-amends national legislation regarding discrimination based on sexual orientation

At #UPR43, States recommended that the #Bahamas🇧🇸
-eliminates discrimination between men and women on the transmission of the nationality
-reviews its legislation to include a human rights approach to climate change
-guarantees full access to reproductive health

The Universal Periodic Review of the #Bahamas🇧🇸 has now concluded.
