We're telling the truth about how China is stripping Hong Kongers of their human rights and persecuting pro-democracy activist #JimmyLai and others.

On April 18 we premiered our documentary feature film THE HONG KONGER: JIMMY LAI'S EXTRAORDINARY STRUGGLE FOR FREEDOM online for the world to see.
In the two weeks since that premiere, more than 1.2 million people have watch the film. 2/
We shared promotional videos for the premiere of the film on all our social media accounts: Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, LinkedIn, and – yes – TikTok.
In just over a week, we had amassed 4+ million views of our TikTok content, 64K likes, and more than 27K followers. 3/
In the first week, one of the videos was removed for "violent and graphic content."
The "violent and graphic content" in that video?
Footage of the Hong Kong police teargassing and beating protestors in the streets of Hong Kong. 4/
You can watch that video here and judge for yourself.
We appealed that decision, noting that this content had been shared on numerous other social media platforms without any problems.
#JimmyLai embodies the cause of press freedom. His newspaper, Apple Daily, was shut down by the CCP because they dared to challenge the narrative Beijing propagates.
We had to use their feedback form because we couldn’t login to our account to actually appeal formally, which is what you have to do to appeal a suspension.
Not exactly helpful! 9/
Now look, I'm not someone who thinks TikTok should be banned.
But I think we should be honest and sober about what TikTok is, and who owns and runs it.
As our experience shows, you shouldn't dare to speak the truth about what the CCP is doing. If so, you'll be shut down. 10/
I encourage everyone to watch our film. It's streaming on-demand now at freejimmylai.com.
Watch and learn what the Chinese Communist Party – and TikTok – doesn't want you to know about what they're doing to #JimmyLai and the people of #HongKong. 11/11

Do people describing how determination, fearlessness, and never surrendering in the face of intimidation defining what makes them Hong Kongers violate @tiktok_us's "community standards?" 2/

Does describing how #JimmyLai has been arrested and persecuted and treated like a terrorist for the "crime" of practicing journalism violate @tiktok_us's "community guidelines?" 3/
