CIA Deputy Director suspected Israel stole U.S. weapons-grade uranium from NUMEC, run by Dr. Shapiro, who had close ties to the Israeli government.

Bush.

Duckett later concluded in 1981: "The clear consensus in the CIA was that indeed NUMEC material had been diverted and had been used by the Israelis in fabricating weapons.”Image
When the Atomic Energy Commission requested NUMEC process and control records from this period, all relevant documents just happened to be destroyed in an employee strike!
