Braverman has told the House of Lords not to defy the “will of the British people” by blocking her Bill, despite it enabling plans which even the King has allegedly described as appalling.
It’s no wonder that people make comparisons with the Reich.
Consider this: ⤵️
“A dictator does not need to follow the will of the majority. He must however have the ability to use the will of the people.”
- Joseph Goebbels,
Nazi minister of propaganda
Braverman tells the people what their will is, then tells Parliament to obey it.
Goebbels again: ⤵️
“The nation and the government ..are one thing. The will of the people is the will of the government and vice versa.”
He then went on to speak of ⤵️
“a higher form of democracy in which, by virtue of the people’s mandate, the government is exercised authoritatively while there is no possibility for parliamentary interference to obliterate and render ineffective the execution of the nation’s will.”
And now we have the House of Lords being told when considering the ‘Illegal’ Migration Bill
“to remember it is designed to meet the will of the British people”,
and should therefore not be obstructed by parliamentary interference. ⤵️
The Tory government has already actually legislated to exclude Parliament from having a say in certain nation-changing decisions.
A “higher form of democracy” is at the door.
Will we, as Germany did back then, unwittingly let it in?
