In the occupied territory, dissidents are locked up in torture chambers or executed. This has been known since 2014. I myself have met victims of the occupation in Ukraine. Deportations, rapes, and 'cleansings' happen exactly where there is NO resistance anymore.🧵
How is it still possible to believe in 2023 that suffering and death are only related to the battlefield, and that a 'ceasefire' or stop of fighting by "both sides" would be enough? The genocidal intentions are openly communicated in Russian propaganda.

Im Besatzungsgebiet werden Andersdenkende in Folterkeller gesperrt oder exekutiert, das weiß man seit 2014, habe selbst in der Ukraine Opfer der Besatzung getroffen. Deportationen, Vergewaltigungen, "Säuberungen", passieren genau dort, wo es eben KEINEN Widerstand mehr gibt. 🧵
Wie kann man 2023 noch glauben, dass Leid und Tod nur im Zusammenhang mit direkten Kriegshandlungen steht und ein "Schweigen der Waffen" auf "beiden Seiten" ausreichen würde? Die genozidalen Absichten werden in der russischen Propaganda offen kommuniziert.

The new, unconfirmed video of a beheading could be another attempt to show mercilessness and demonstrate incomparable radicalism, intended to intimidate Ukrainians and impress Russian audiences on social media.
They want to show Ukrainians that this could happen to them if they resist and fight the invaders, while also intending to show future Russian soldiers what may happen to them if they refuse to fight.
