“My injuries were caused by hatred. But my body was rebuilt by love. And I said: “As a Ukrainian soldier, you will not find greater love than you will find in Ukraine. And you will have the opportunity that I have to have a new life”

War documentarian Giles Duley defines himself as a lucky man. 12 years ago, while filming in Afghanistan, he stepped on a landmine. Giles lost 3 limbs, had 37 surgeries, and was given a very poor medical prognosis. A year and a half later... he returned to work in Afghanistan.
Giles is now a founder of a charitable fund. @Legacy_of_War helps Ukrainians affected by war and raises funds via #UNITED24 for rebuilding efforts. In 2022, Giles was elected as the 1st @UN Global Advocate for persons with disabilities in conflict and peacebuilding situations.
Today, Giles is documenting life during war in Ukraine, providing a legacy for generations to come. He also brings hope to the hearts of the soldiers he meets.
Giles, your speech at #ThePowerOfUnity Summit touched our hearts. Thank you for everything you do for Ukraine!

U24 ambassador @TimothyDSnyder opposes russian propaganda on a regular basis. He recently spoke at a meeting of the @UN Security Council, convened by moscow to discuss "russophobia," and explained how russia uses this term to justify its genocide against the Ukrainian people👇🏽
📌 If you stand in russia with a sign saying "no to war," you will be arrested and very likely imprisoned. If you stand in Ukraine with a sign that says "no to war," regardless of what language it is in, nothing will happen to you.
📌 The claim that Ukrainians have to be killed because they have a mental illness known as "russophobia" is bad for Russians, because it educates them in genocide.

👨‍🚀@StationCDRKelly is not only a record-breaking astronaut, but also a former professional F-14 fighter-bomber pilot. Before leaving Kyiv, he asked for a meeting with Ukrainian pilots.
We didn't know if it could happen due to missile attack threat. But, everything worked out! ImageImageImageImage
Scott met with Lieutenant General Anatoly Kryvonozhko, Head of Ukraine's Central Air Command, alongside Ukrainian MiG-29 fighter pilots. It was a very warm, friendly and top-secret conversation 😉
They talked about the feats of Ukrainian pilots, their capability to conduct aerial combat against an enemy with superior numbers, how they defended the capital in the first days of the war, and, of course, about the "Ghost of Kyiv." They also discussed F-16 planes, which🇺🇦needs.

These are 32 C-type ambulances. The largest batch was purchased under @ZelenskaUA initiative, thanks to donations made via #united24.
One such ambulance will save hundreds of lives. And here's how👇🏽
📍The portable ALV is suitable for stabilizing both adults and infants. It provides positive pressure during breathing and has a spirometer to determine the patient's breathing capacity.
📍A modern, sensitive capnograph helps the paramedic analyze the condition of ALV-bound patients, aiding the diagnosis of potentially dangerous complications. With this level of monitoring, the ambulance is a true mobile resuscitation station.

Did you know that @StationCDRKelly is not only a #NASA record-holder and a #USNavy captain, but also a former medic? That’s one of the reasons he supports 🇺🇦medical workers.
Here's what the Rocket Man said himself👇🏽
#united24
"In my youth, I worked in emergency medical care as an EMT and ambulance driver and saw with my own eyes how timely medical assistance can save people's lives. Later, as an astronaut, I always performed the role of medical officer in space so medical care is important to me."
"Ukrainian doctors and medical personnel today are real heroes, performing miracles daily and in unbelievably challenging and dangerous conditions. I consider it my duty to support Ukraine as they defend democracy against Russian aggression."
