Prime Minister Netanyahu:

Last night, we successfully concluded 5 days of fighting against the Islamic Jihad terrorist organization. The directive I gave, with the Defense Minister, to the IDF and ISA amounted to 2 words: 'Initiative' and 'surprise'.

gov.il/en/departments…
I congratulated the IDF Chief-of-Staff and the Director of the ISA yesterday also with two words: 'Well done.' Indeed, the operation was perfect.
With complete surprise and continuous initiative, we targeted the entire Islamic Jihad leadership in Gaza. We destroyed 17 Jihad command centers. We eliminated dozens of terrorists. We hit rocket and missile arsenals, took out anti-tank units, etc.
For two months, since the establishment of the government, I have reiterated: Whoever harms us or even tries to harm us – will pay the price.
Today, the enemies of Israel in Gaza and far beyond Gaza, know that even if they try to hide, we can, and we will, always reach them. This awareness was significantly strengthened during Operation Shield and Arrow. We changed the equation.
I would like to thank the IDF commanders and soldiers, and the men and women of the ISA, for their important actions on defense and on offense.
And to you, the citizens of Israel, especially the residents of the area around the Gaza Strip, thank you for your backing and your steadfast resilience, which enabled us to succeed in this important operation.
During the operation, I was in continuous contact with council heads in the area around the Gaza Strip, to deal with problems regarding protection, replenishment and other areas. I would like to thank Prime Minister's Office Director General Yossi Shelley for his dedicated work.
And from the security achievements to the government's achievements in other areas:

In one of the most challenging periods for the global economy in recent years, the international credit rating agency S&P once again confirmed Israel's positive and high credit rating.
This is a clear expression of confidence in the important and correct economic policy we are leading. I congratulate Finance Minister Smotrich for this important achievement. I think that this achievement deserves special notice; there is nothing like the markets having their say
Last Thursday I met with the President of Cyprus. We agreed to continue building the alliance of democracies in the Eastern Mediterranean: Israel-Cyprus-Greece. Image
We built this alliance several years ago and it has important implications, especially regarding Israel's standing as a major energy power. The project we focused on is supply of Israeli gas to Europe via the pipeline from our gas field to a huge liquefaction facility in Cyprus.
This link will jump the Israeli economy forward to new heights and will strengthen Israel's standing as an important international energy supplier. You know that Europe needs energy. It needs gas, and the efficient production of inexpensive gas from Israel to Europe.
Last week I also met with the new President of Kenya. We agreed to strengthen cooperation in all areas. This visit, like the opening of the Chad Embassy in Israel expresses the importance many African countries attribute to Israel, and the importance Israel attributes to Africa. Image
I would like to commend Foreign Minister Eli Cohen for resolving the crisis with Poland, for dedicating the new Israeli Embassy in Turkmenistan, for his successful visit to Ukraine and for additional important actions that we will describe in due time.
These join the steps that we have already taken: We signed a free trade agreement with the United Arab Emirates and we opened direct flights over Oman.

The effort to deepen and expand the Abraham accords has not stopped even for a moment, including at present.
And from the achievements in foreign policy, the economy and security to another phenomenal achievement at the #Eurovision :
I would like to congratulate Noa Kirel for finishing a respectable third. Noa, for us you will always be number one. Congratulations! Thank you.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu:

"My wife Sara and I, like all Israeli citizens, with deep sorrow, are saying farewell to our dear and beloved Haim Topol, who was one of the State of Israel's greatest artists.
He greatly loved the land of Israel, and the people of Israel loved him in return.

Topol was a multi-faceted artist, with great charisma and energy. He proudly represented Israel around the world and received international recognition of a kind that few have received.
His plays and films were extraordinary experiences. Thanks to his broad smile, warm voice and unique sense of humor, he was a popular figure who conquered the heart of the people.

Prime Minister Netanyahu:
"This was an exceptional intelligence and operational achievement. This is already the fourth action that you have carried out recently in the heart of the terrorist bases located in refugee camps.
These operations are of immense value. By your actions, you are sending a clear and sharp message to all who are thinking about murdering an Israeli citizen: We will settle accounts with you.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, at the start of the weekly Cabinet meeting:
"I have just come from the Shaare Zedek and Hadassah-Mt. Scopus hospitals, where I visited the wounded from the two terrorist attacks in Jerusalem. We all wish them a speedy and complete recovery."
Last night, the Security Cabinet approved a series of steps in the fight against terrorism. On the one hand, we will step up the deployment and activity of the security forces, on the other we will exact a price from those who carry out terrorist attacks and their supporters.
This morning we sealed the home of the terrorist who carried out the reprehensible attack in Jerusalem; his home will be demolished. We decided to revoke the national insurance rights of families that support terrorism.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the Start of the Security Cabinet Meeting:

"On behalf of the citizens of Israel, I would like to send my deepest condolences to the families of those who were murdered in this awful and despicable terrorist attack in our capital Jerusalem.
This was a reprehensible attack at the entrance to a synagogue on International Holocaust Remembrance Day.

I thank my friend, @POTUS Joe Biden, who spoke with me and expressed outrage and condolences over this terrible murderous attack.
I also thank the many other leaders, including from Arab countries, for standing alongside Israel at this time.

We are all praying for the wellbeing of those who were wounded in the two attacks.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu:
"Today is International Holocaust Remembrance Day and exactly 78 years since the liberation of the Auschwitz death camp. We in Israel mark this event by honoring the sacred memory of those who perished at the hands of a murderous Nazi regime.
And we vow that this will never, ever, happen again to our people.

The difference now is that the Jewish people have the State of Israel. Israel protects itself by itself.
We are a strong and vibrant nation and we have built up a powerful state that will not allow our enemies to inflict the very pain, suffering and devastating loss our people experienced during the Holocaust.
