Winning La Liga caps off a strange, sordid and occasionally glorious era for Barcelona.

Bribery, organ harvesting and illegal orgies: it's like the plot of a soap opera.

As they lurch from scandal to scandal, this is the story of Barca's five years from hell... ImageImage
The saga begins in 2017, when club president Sandro Rossell is arrested on money-laundering charges.

He's eventually acquitted, but only after two years in jail.

He recalls later: "When I entered prison they gave me four condoms and four bags with vaseline. I was worried." Image
There's more trouble when Director of Football Eric Abidal is accused of organ harvesting.

In his playing days, the defender received a liver transplant from "a cousin".

But police secretly record Barca execs discussing "the purchase of an illegal liver" for Eric. Image
There are high hopes for another former player when keeper Victor Valdes returns as under 19s coach.

But he's sent off in his first game and threatens academy chief Patrick Kluivert, warning him: "Don't break my balls, Patrick or you'll get it."

He's sacked after just 67 days. Image
In August 2020, Barca are humiliated 8-2 by Bayern Munich.

To make matters worse, Philippe Coutinho - on loan from Barca - scores 2 for the Germans.

And when Coutinho wins the Champions League with Bayern, it triggers a clause that means Barca owe his old club Liverpool €5m. Image
After years of careless spending, Covid hits the club finances hard.

They try to sell Luis Suarez to Juventus, but it collapses when he's caught cheating on an Italian citizenship test.

After feeding Luis the answers, an official admits: "He does not speak a word of Italian." Image
In early 2021, another scandal breaks.

President Josep Bartomeu is accused of illegally using club money to fund a smear campaign against his critics.

Police say he planted fake stories on social media about Leo Messi and Pep Guardiola.

They raid the Nou Camp and arrest him. ImageImage
That summer, Barcelona hit rock bottom.

Unable to slash their wage bill, they let Leo Messi leave.

As the club's greatest ever player sobs at his farewell press conference, angry fans storm the Nou Camp in protest.
The following season, morale is low.

Messi is gone, the club haven't got a pot to piss in, and they're playing in the Europa League.

Soon the players turn on each other.

Gerard Pique and Frenkie De Jong squabble after Pique refuses to swap seats with Frenkie's girlfriend.
As they mull over how to win Messi back, club executives are caught slagging him off in their WhatsApp group.

Screenshots show legal chief Gómez Pontí calling Messi a "sewer rat" and a "hormone dwarf". Image
At the end of 2022, Barcelona finally get some good news.

Prosecutors drop fraud charges relating to the purchase of Neymar in 2014.

But the case reveals Barca paid for Neymar's dad to have an orgy and "200 coffees" at a London hotel. Image
Exhausted, Gerard Pique retires in December 2022.

In his final match, he's sent off before he can come on as a substitute.

He brands the ref a "fucking disgrace".

And then - with his final words as a professional footballer - yells: "I shit on your prostitute mother". Image
There's more comedy from Pique a month later.

After he leaves Shakira for a 22-year-old, the popstar sings: "you traded a Ferrari for a Twingo. You traded a Rolex for a Casio."

The next day, Gerard announces a sponsorship with Casio, and turns up to work driving this. Image
On the pitch, Xavi's side are clicking, and they march towards a La Liga title.

But things turn very dark when Dani Alves is arrested over an alleged sexual assault on New Year's Eve.

He quickly adapts to life in jail, swapping signed Barca shirts for cigarettes. Image
And just when things are looking up, Barca are caught secretly paying €7m to Spain's referees chief.

President Bartomeu insists they just paid for "information", to counter pro-Real Madrid bias.

As police investigate, Bartomeu attacks "scoundrels who are staining our badge". Image
Yesterday the club won La Liga for the first time since 2019, conceding just 13 goals on the way.

But their innocent celebrations were interrupted by Espanyol ultras chasing them off the field.

Erling Haaland is a seriously weird bloke.

He gorges on chicken livers, raps about world peace, and wakes up to the Champions League anthem. Every day.

As the Robo-Viking smashes every record under the sun, welcome to the weird world of Erling Haaland... ImageImage
Our story begins in the sleepy Norwegian town of Bryne.

A 16-year-old Haaland adopts the gangster alias 'Lyng', and forms a rap collective called Flow Kingz with two mates.

Their track, Kygo Jo, sees Erling rap about "world crisis" in a children's playground.
Haaland's prowess on the mic soon catches the eye of the local ladies.

But he dumps his first girlfriend when she complains he doesn't see her enough.

"One day she asked me to choose between her and football. I sometimes miss her” he later explains. ImageImage

Everyone knows Roy Keane is a mad bastard.

The United legend humiliated teammates, knocked out opponents and scrapped with his own manager.

But that's not the half of it.

From drunken headbutts to kung fu kicks in the dressing room, this is his story... ImageImage
In 1990, teenage trainee Roy Keane is helping the Nottingham Forest kitman lay out the first team shirts.

Manager Brian Clough orders him to try on the number 7 shirt, and then shocks him by announcing: "You're playing today".

Roy's hungover, but still stars on his debut. Image
Keane becomes one of Clough's favourites, but the gaffer is hard on him too.

When his error costs Forest a goal, Clough jumps out from behind the dressing room door and smacks Keane in the face.

"Don't pass the ball back to my goalkeeper, young man", he yells. Image

And that's certainly true of Zaire's infamous bid for World Cup glory.

From death threats to missing bags of cash, this is the story of the Bungle in the Jungle... ImageImage

Forget living standards and economic growth – Mobutu wanted to make the country a footballing superpower. Image
He ploughed money into the game and lured players of Congolese descent back home with lucrative contracts.

He showered them with gilded mansions and fast cars.

But it soon became apparent that Mobutu was a bit mental.... Image

Jose Mourinho is so charismatic that John Terry said "I'd leave the pitch in a coffin for him".

But he's also a ruthless bastard who threatens ball boys, fights staff and spits poison at his enemies.

As he considers the PSG job, this is the story of Jose Mourinho v The World... Image
Mourinho's dad was a top flight manager in Portugal, and Jose soon learns how cruel football can be.

“I was 9 or 10 years old and my father was sacked on Christmas Day", he recalls.

But it doesn't put him off: Jose bags his first job as a translator for Porto boss Bobby Robson. Image
The pair move to Barca, where Mourinho befriends midfielder Pep Guardiola.

But Jose is set for bigger things.

He lands the Porto job, and announces himself to English fans by sprinting down the Old Trafford touchline to celebrate an equaliser.

Porto win the Champions League. ImageImage

When Fabio Quagliarella joined Napoli in 2009, his childhood dreams came true.

But the striker's solitary season at the Stadio San Paolo descended into a living hell.

From crooked coppers to stalkers from hell, this is the true crime tale of a Neapolitan nightmare... Image
The spine-chilling saga begins in 2007, when Fabio Quagliarella receives a string of sinister messages accusing him of mafia connections.

He passes them off as the ravings of a lunatic fan.

But when he joins hometown club Napoli, things get really scary. Image
Letters begin arriving at Quagliarella's parents' home on the outskirts of Naples.

They contain pictures of underage girls, and claims that the striker is a paedophile and drug addict.

Another time, they're sent a picture of a coffin with Fabio's face nailed to it. Image

Four years ago, Tottenham were on the brink of European glory.

The Amazon cameras rolled up in search of their secret. But instead they found an absolute shit show.

From tin pot trophies to shagging Pep's relatives, this is where it all went wrong for Spurs... ImageImage
After heartbreak in the 2019 Champions League final, Spurs end their 11 year wait for trophies with the vaunted Audi Cup.

Admittedly it's a 4 team friendly tournament, but a cup's a cup.

Sadly chairman Dan Levy disagrees and manager Pochettino is ditched for Jose Mourinho. Image
Jose orders his squad "to be a bunch of cunts, intelligent cunts, not stupid cunts."

It certainly fires up Harry Kane, whose team talks go up a notch.

They're not exactly 'Fight Them On The Beaches' though...

"Fucking chances, goals, we fucking kill them man, fucking qualify"
