#OTD in 1985: a private Bell 206 [ZK-HWX] is involved in an incident at Manawahe (New Zealand), the sole pilot aboard survives uninjured. The helicopter was taking part in operations related to the Rally of New Zealand when it rolled after landing on slopping ground.
#OTD in 2013: Nepal Airlines Flight 555, a DHC-6 Twin Otter has a runway excursion landing in Jomsom (Nepal). All 21 aboard survive, 7 serious injuries. Plane skidded off runway and fell 20 mt/65 ft into a river. Report pointed crew actions (breach of SOP, CRM, others).
#OTD in 2001: A Turkish AF CN-235M [R086] crashes in Malatya (Turkey). All 34 aboard die. Media reported aircraft was cruising at 17000 feet when it entered an uncontrolled descent and dove into the ground. It remains the deadliest-ever accident involving the CN-235.
#OTD in 1995: A RAF Nimrod [XW666] ditches in Moray Firth (Scotland), all 6 aboard survive. Aircraft was on routine post-servicing test flight when an engine fire forced crew to ditch. Inquiry concluded “that a sequence of technical difficulties led to the uncontained fire”.
#OTD in 1946: a USAAF B-17 [44-85510] on a transport flight crashes in Fairfax (California, US), 3 of 9 crew die. Investigation pointed aircraft ran out of fuel when pilot was trying to locate Hamilton AFB. Enquiry pointed crew´s “lack of judgment (…) disregard” and others.
#NotOTD 31/03/1993: JAL Cargo Flight 46E, a B-747, has in incident over Alaska (US). All 5 aboard unharmed. After departure, jet was at 2000 ft when #2 engine fell from the wing, crew was able to land safely. Inquiry pointed combination of turbulence and pylon fatigue crack.

#Ongoing Cargolux Flight CV-6857, a cargo B-747, was involved in an incident yesterday at Findel Airport (Luxembourg), all aboard are unhurt. Turning back after a technical issue, on landing the right main gear broke off before the aircraft came to a stop. Updates when possible.
