Many of us are perplexed by the rise of the Far Right Wing Politics, its attraction of followers, and try to fanthom how it came to be and what's fuelling it. There are many factors, one in particular that will provide a great deal of startling insight. 1/26 #abpoli #skpoli
Looking for images to illustrate the tip of the iceberg, about Racism, and what lies underneath, showing the deeper Psychology of fear, anger, trauma, I found similar graphics that used the pyramid. One particular pyramid caught my eye, and led to this thread. 2/26
It was from 1966 and called the SORO Pyramid, used to illustrate how Communism worked to create Guerrila Warfare. Following the image to its source led to a PDF called 'Unconventional Warfare Pocket Guide' by the Fort Bragg U.S. Army Special Operations Command. 3/26
That alone was startling, as why would a US military book be online!
Reading it becomes even more so. It outlines in summary format, what it says is the US method of either recognizing the signs of Guerrila Warfare, or starting it when it suits the US. 4/26
The book is public info on Google, open for viewing, I'm sharing the info, because it also succinctly describes Exactly the methodology the Far Right Wing is using to undermine our democracies. And knowledge of their tatics is what we need to know to stand against it. 5/26
Unconventional or Subversive Warfare summarized:
Activities conducted to enable a resistance movement or insurgency to coerce, disrupt or overthrow a government or occupying power by operating through or with an underground, auxiliary, and guerrilla force in a denied area. 6/26
It refers to a Resistance Movement as: An organized effort by some portion of the civil population of a country to resist the legally established government or an occupying power and to disrupt civil order and stability.
(An apt description of the Far Right Wing Politic) 7/26
More Terms:
Insurgency: The organized use of subversion or violence to seize, nullify, or challenge political control of a region. Insurgency can also refer to the group itself.

Coerce: Coercion is forcing someone of some entity to do something it would rather not do. 8/26
More Terminology

Disrupt: Disruption prevents or impedes someone or some entity from doing something it would prefer to do. Although disruption can be a relatively small-scale it can also be large-scale such as coordinated regional resistance. 9/26
More Terminology

Overthrow: to overthrow a state or occupying power when it is intended that the supported successful resistance will support appropriate leaders for political control and governance. 10/26
More Termimology

Underground: Cell organization within the resistance that conducts operations in urban or rural areas.
Examples of underground activities include subversive radio, media networks, social media, webpages, logistic networks, sabotage, clandestine funding. 11/26
More Terminology:

Auxiliary: Refers to that portion of the population that provides active clandestine support to the underground. Members of the auxiliary are part-time volunteers who have value because of their normal position in the community. 12/26
Here are the Clandestine Activities of Subversive Warfare:
*sowing dissatisfaction about the current political, economic and social administration and/or other conditions;
*promote aspiration for sovereign/national independence or desire for ideological and other changes. 13/26
*creates an atmosphere of wider discontent through propaganda, lies, and political and psychological effort, discrediting current government, administration, police and/or military authorities. 14/26
*fuels agitation; to form favorable public opinion (advocating sovereign cause), creates distrust of established institutions.
*increases agitation; unrest, disaffection,
*infiltration of administration, police, military, and national organizations, protests and strikes. 15/26
*Infiltration by foreign agents and agitators, and foreign propaganda material, money, possibly weapons and equipment.
*recruitment of like-minded people and others; indoctrination and use of these for organizational purposes. 16/26
*penetration into professional, social and political organizations and into all parts of society.
*spreading subversive organizations into all sectors of life in a country/region
*establishment of formalized resistance elements; 17/26
*appeal to extraterritorial support infrastructure
*expansion of and coordination among resistance elements
*intensification of propaganda; increase in dissaffection, psychological preparation for revolt.
18/26
*overt and covert pressures against government, strikes, riots, protests or other disorders
*sabatoge to demonstrate weakness of current government
*increased underground activities to demonstrate strength of resistance movement. 19/26
*intense sapping away at morals of the current government, administration, police, military.
*may try to pseudo negotiate with current government, administration.
*possible use of increased political sabatoge, even resorting to violence
*shadow governance activities
20/26
This is the 2013 updated illustration of the SORO Pyramid that was outlined in the tweets 21/26 Image
More Terminology
*Public component refers to an overt political manifestation of a resistance. Public components are primarily responsible for negotiations with the nation-state government or occupying power representatives on behalf of resistance movement objectives. 22/26
One last Terminology and here's where it gets interesting.

If the Subversive Resistance achieves its goal, it sets up what is termed a Shadow Government.
A Shadow Government replaces the ousted Government and consists of now taking care of governance elements. 23/26
The Shadow Government takes over all governance functions, including security, health services, taxation, etc. Often the Shadow Government declaring its own Sovereignty operates either as an separate sovereign area, or the whole occupied territory/country/nation . 24/26
The take away from this thread is that these descriptors precisely describe the activities that have been observed as tatics by the Far Right Wing movements, used to subvert our Democracy. Both at Regional/Provincial Levels and the National Level. 25/26
There is a fine line between recognized duly Parlimentary processes, that are honouably part of the Democratic Spirit and well within Civil Political Engaement, and Sedition. This Thread is only meant to distinguish the elements involved in the more Seditious occuring. 26/26
Now I'm hoping im doing this right and ask @threadreaderapp to "unroll" this thread for easier reading.
