Looking forward to the weekend?Did you know that this is a Operation C.A.R.E weekend! We will have extra patrols in construction zones, high crash areas and working Click it or Ticket through Monday. Our goal is to have zero fatal crashes across the district! Crash not accidentToward Zero Deaths BannerClick it or Ticket
What is Operation C.A.R.E you ask? Well, Operation C.A.R.E. (Crash Awareness and Reduction Efforts) began in 1977 as a collaborative effort between the Michigan State Police and the Indiana State Police and is one of the nation’s longest-running traffic safety initiatives. 2/ Operation CARE Logo
Operation C.A.R.E. was formed to deter the three key causes of highway fatalities: speeding, impaired driving and failure to use occupant restraints. 3/
Today, all 50 states (state police/state patrol), American Samoa, Guam, Puerto Rico, U. S. Virgin Islands, and the Provinces of Ontario and Quebec are actively involved in C.A.R.E., making it an international traffic safety program. 4/
For us that means we focus on patrol and all non essential report writing and investigative follow up is not done till after the weekend! We hope everyone has a safe holiday weekend!#DriveMichiganSafely 5/
