CRED might have done 10 other things wrong

But they never started charging a ₹99 Convenience Fee on Credit Card Bill Payments
With all my limited understanding

One can’t build a sustainable & profitable business with cash burning product
Majority users are the most loyal to cashback & incentives

This certainly works for acquiring users, creating a buzz in the market

But for actual retention, the product needs to have stickiness & some USPs

Unpopular Opinion - ‘Per Capita Income’ is an Unreliable Indicator in a Country like India

Just like Poor Hunger, Press Freedom Indexes
Came across many people who claim to be Farmer, but have many bungalow & SUVs

Good chunk of street vendors, local food chains, restaurant owners in smaller cities. No bills, daily turnover ranging between ₹10,000 to a few Lakhs
Sarojini Market, Chandani Chowk in Delhi, Jewellers etc are a classic example

I’m not denying that we don’t have a poor population, indeed we need to do better for them

• Who is scared of Credit Cards
• Who don’t know how to use it effectively
• Who maximise the Benefits, Power Users

I have over 30+ Credit Cards

And here are Some Practical Insights
First of all

Personal Finance is ‘Personal’

It’s absolutely fine if you use cash & UPI and don’t use Credit Cards

It’s also great if you have multiple Credit Cards and leveraging them effectively

Social Media does Influence, Don’t let anyone make you feel bad otherwise
