Welcome to the world of other 'Red' States with an entrenched establishment.
When you realize what is happening it galvanizes a lot of people to action.
In GA, we experienced the same thing in 2021.
LOTS of anger. So many new people got involved.
1/
We had fiery meetings in the aftermath of 2020.
Lots of censure resolutions.
Lots of fights on those.
The line we constantly heard was 'we dont need to fight each other, we need to fight Dems'
It fractured a lot of us.
Leadership battles, former leaders running to the press
2/
To bad mouth the current leaders.
It was ugly.
Yes, Kemp won. Why? Because Stacy was a nightmare. But let me tell you the little secret they will not tell you about his 'win'..
3/
GA registered 1 million voters between 2018 and 2022
Kemp increased his vote share by less than 20k over 2018. South GA stayed home
He didnt get as many votes as Perdue did in the Jan 2021 runoff.. people stayed home...
4/
The same GOPe clutched their pearls instead of voting for Herschel.
Kemp and Herschel never campaigned together, etc. I could go on..
Kemp publicly divorced himself from the GA GOP...
5/
Now it is 2023. New convention season.
Conservatives are on the rise here.
Key conservatives have taken charge of county and district leadership positions
We have record new enrollment and engagement.
So many new leaders will attend our state convention and we have
6/
A strong roster of conservative candidates to vote into leadership positions at the state level.
There is a reason Kemp et al are not attending our convention and Trump is.
7/
Is it perfect? No. We have a long way to go. We tried primarying Establishment members up and down the ballot in 2022 and were not always successful.
We are putting candidates into races everywhere. Going into communities that are dark blue to build relationships
8/
I know it will not be easy, but it is worth the fight.
We just have to keep working.
I want to close with this.
In 2020 I attended the 1st county meeting after the election. People were angry that Cobb had turned blue after 30 years.
9/
We were given some data. Specifically, how much the demographics of the county had changed drastically over 5 years due to development.
GOPe developers in pursuit of the almighty $ changed our county.
Then, one person rose to speak.
Her name is Donna Rowe.
10/
She told us it was time to stop complaining and start working. She was on the front lines in the 70s, 80s and 90s and worked hard to turn our county red.
She said we had gotten soft and werent used to working hard.
Pounding the pavement and talking to people is how to win.
11/
I took those words to heart
Here we are 2.5 years later.
The hard work is reaping benefits with new leaders and a ton of outreach.
My hope is that the new leaders will fulfill their promises.
Data, outreach, ballot chasing, accountability.
We have a long way to go
12/
It will be a long journey, but I look forward to turning what is possible into what is probable.
I will never forget:
When @GenFlynn went to his hearing in front of Judge Sullivan, and the judge called him a 'traitor'
When the charges were proven bogus and DOJ wanted to drop them, the same judge fought them every step of the way.
I remember the qs from the other judges
During that time.
I remember when Adm Rogers did the investigation FISA, and collections and a damning report was released by the same judges in 2017.
And nothing happened.
Durhams prosecutions not bearing fruit, and what is happening to J6 defendants is not surprising.
Learning the FBI is still out of control on FISA abuse is not surprising.
It saddens me for the state of our country
The question is, what is going to be done about it?
Food for thought as I see a lot of GOPe saying we need 'nice and normal' to appeal to the mythical middle. We are told people just want normal and easy.
There is a problem with that argument and I will attempt to explain it.
1/ 🧵
First lets go back to 2020.
There was one blessing from the school closures.
Parents became aware of what was happening at their kids schools and they engaged directly.
It began to grow and spread as a bottom up movement.
2/
Do you realize it has only been 18 months since the parents in VA discovered what happened in Loudon County?
Parents across the state mobilized. McCauliffe doubled down (Dems always do) otoh Youngkin embraced parents and he won.
It was a local/state issue that enabled a win
3/
I consider myself a normal person who is plugged into news.
I want to give you a snapshot of the last 24 hours. Different POVs. Critical thinking is needed.
Last night I watched @TuckerCarlson final interview with Trump discussing the existential threats our country faces
1/
Next I watched @Timcast with @JesseKellyDC . They discussed the Budlight issue and the republic ending dangers we face from the Left and how we need to overcome them and fight back.
This morning I listened to @hughhewitt who said the biggest threat to the country was the leak
2/
And that all other stories in comparison were 'silly'
The greatest danger to our Republic is a leaker who revealed sources and methods.
Who needs to be arrested because he hurt us with our allies. He was also gobsmacked...
