I don't want us to be the benchmark in Canada anymore for other provinces to say, "At least we're not Alberta." I don't want to wake up every morning with a knot in my gut worrying about what unhinged decisions the UCP will make that day as they chase /1
their fever dream of being a US red state. I don't want to cringe every time Danielle Smith opens her mouth because she is either uninformed, misinformed, or saying things that show a lack of judgment and critical thinking skills. /2
I am sick of extremism in Alberta. I am tired of extremists feeling at home here. I am tired of people like Theo Fleury & Jamie Sale thinking AB is the perfect place to spew lies from. There is such a long list of extremist bad actors that flourish in AB./3
I'm tired of the hatred. The incessant rallies during the pandemic with anti-vaxxers wearing the star of David proclaiming they were being persecuted, man, they made our lives hell for almost 3 years. Hopped up on MAGA, QANON, & their own research. Waving /4
the Canadian flag, like what they were doing, made them more Canadian than the rest of us. These are the people Smith called the most persecuted group she's ever known. What on earth. I don't want to be a province that claims to be so tough, so strong, /5
so hard-working but, in reality, whines incessantly about Ottawa, Trudeau, Québec, Rachel Notley... and the list goes on. Somebody somewhere is always doing something to poor Alberta. The grudges and sense of entitlement Alberta has are baffling to me. /6
I am tired of all the dark stuff in this province that is alluded to & spoken of as having so much control in the underbelly where deals are made & money flows. Stuff about corrupt politicians and religious entities that have a stranglehold on communities. /7
It's sick. My head spins on Twitter because I don't know what any full story truly is, but bits & pieces are tossed around publicly, and what little can be gleaned from it is gross. Conservatives for all their self-righteousness, pride in family values, & /8
boasting of God, Church, and moral superiority, when held to the light, there's a lot who are just smoke and mirrors. Certainly, I am not buying what they're selling when they talk about their faith. How many times have we heard their judgments on /9
those most vulnerable in our communities. Remember when Kenney was premier & the way his staff would tweet so obnoxiously & cruelly? They were on a MAGA high trying to imitate Trump & Bannon, mocking people for being cautious in the pandemic, crowing about/10
not being scared. Some of them had the audacity to put Christian symbols in their profiles & tweet bible verses. Amazingly, at this point, if a person has a cross on their bio, we automatically assume they are obnoxious deceivers who judge & point fingers./11
That's on you, certain factions of Christians. You've shown the world who you are. We are on the eve of an election in a province that, despite knowing everything I've just written about, could still end up with the same party in power with a leader who is/12
backed by sovereignists, & Take Back Alberta, which is also separatist and Alberta nationalist. This is incredibly serious. People way smarter than me have written very clear warnings about the direction Alberta is heading if the UCP wins. /13
No one can go to the polls and claim ignorance. We live in an information age. Something has drastically changed with conservatives wherever they're found. They perceive their Western values in peril & democracy no longer works for them. They need a /14
political system where they impose their way of life upon others & demand that everyone believes it & lives it. Interestingly, for all their supposed belief in God, they want to do what He never did, namely, force belief in Him. Wherever that happens in /15
the world, it's not because God has asked for it. With Him, it's always a choice. This is how you know that people who call themselves His followers and want to Christian nation build have lost their way. I say these things because I am tired of /16
religious pandering. No one should be deceived into thinking any of the utter nonsense we have seen from the right in recent years is of God because it isn't. The scripture they claim to believe is pretty plain about the fact that true Christians /17
are known by their love. Are you seeing love? I'm not. And don't get me started on all the ways they say love can be expressed because they need to find a way to let themselves off the hook. If you've made it this far in this thread, wow, thank you... you/18
may wonder why I have spent so much time on religion. It's because I know that for so many, the belief that right-wing political parties are Christian has been undisputed. Assuredly, they are not, but they've given the optics of this very well. I grew /19
up in a family that was staunchly evangelical. Interestingly, when I was old enough to vote, I never voted conservative. Not once. I was an outlier in my family. I am no longer an evangelical. However, I am a person of faith. I say this because in calling /20
out Christians & their politics, I don't do this as one who is uninformed. What I see in Madam Notley & what I have always seen in her is a great deal of love & genuiness. I use her as a role model for kids in my life, male & female, because her attributes/21
as a leader are worthy of emulating. Madam Notley is extraordinarily reliable. We aren't going to have Beaverton doing a mock Amber Alert for her. In the past few yrs, conservative male leaders have had an obvious problem with ghosting us. There's nothing /22
strong, tough, or hard-working in that. It's cowardly and shameful. Madam Notley is cut from a different cloth. She will show up for us. Most importantly, she makes no distinction between which Albertans are worthy of care. That is what a leader does. /23
A leader leads towards being better in every possible way. This is why I am voting NDP. Joyfully, gratefully, and resoundingly. I hope you will too. /fin

Danielle Smith wants our CPP because it's part of her plan to separate Alberta from Canada. You can read her plan right here:

No time to read? Happy to do the highlights for you.

Written Oct 18, 2019 as an op-ed to the Calgary Herald called, “Alberta Should Become a Nation Within a Nation,” Danielle Smith writes, in summary, (all caps are mine)/1
“If Premier Jason Kennedy wants to STEM THE TIDE OF ALBERTA SEPARATION HE’S GOING TO HAVE TO ACT QUICKLY.”
She goes on to offer 3 things he should do right away and it’s within her second point that she starts to lay out what she’s been doing in AB /2

I have cropped the tweet I am quoting so the individual doesn't get trolled because of me. UCP voters should pause & consider what it means when they say, "vote the party & not the leader." This obvious agreement from them that Danielle Smith is a disaster,/1 Image
but to vote party anyway is an act of supreme selfishness. It is nonsense & irrational to think that a leader is not going to be the one driving their policies in AB. It is an act of personal & communal irresponsibility to vote for a party you know is not /2
fit to lead this province just because it's habit, or you think it brands you as a Christian, or MAGA, or Libertarian, or whatever it is you derive identity from within UCP. It is not obscured from Albertans exactly who Danielle Smith is and what she/3
