I spent dozens of hours looking for alpha on-chain last month 🔎

In this thread I'll share my top findings:

- fastest-growing protocols
- current trends & narratives
- latest smart money movements

Let's dive in🧵👇 Image
Fastest-growing Protocols📈

1️⃣ @LybraFinanceLSD

$LBR has been killing it lately.

Lybra is the project behind eUSD, an interest-bearing stablecoin backed by LSDs. (stETH)

Its TVL increased from $16M to $160M in 3 weeks🤯

Anyone can borrow $eUSD against $stETH with 0 fees. Image
A fee is deducted from the stETH income that Lybra gets, and it's sent to $LBR stakers.

The reason for Lybra's explosive growth is its flywheel effect:

$ETH borrowers get $LBR incentives for minting $eUSD-> more revenue for $LBR holders -> higher $LBR price-> more $eUSD minted
2️⃣ @GNDProtocol

GND Protocol launched at the end of April, and in <2 months it reached $42M TVL.

It's the mother protocol of $gmUSD, a yield-bearing stablecoin on Arbitrum.

$gmUSD is backed by gmdUSDC & gDAI, and its holders collect most of the yield generated by these tokens. Image
Its 2nd product (GND Farm) manages concentrated liquidity on behalf of LPs and collects trading fees as revenue.

Most of the GND revenue from $gmUSD & GND Farm is used for buying & burning $GND from the market.

GND is already the top #4 #RealYield project on Arbitrum↓ Image
3️⃣ @asymetrix_eth

Asymetrix is a protocol for asymmetric yield distribution from staking.

It launched a month ago & it reached $13M TVL extremely quickly.

Asymetrix is similar to a no-loss lottery🎰

The idea behind it is simple: Image
Users deposit $stETH, and every week a few
users are randomly selected to win the yield generated by all the stETH deposited on Asymetrix.

So you forego a stable staking yield for a chance to win a grand prize.

And no matter the outcome, all users earn $ASX staking rewards.
Trends & Narratives🔥

1️⃣ LSDfi

LSDfi continues to be the hottest DeFi narrative.

Frax's $frxETH & RocketPool's $RPL have seen the largest TVL increase among the top players.

Swell is the fastest-growing new protocol, but it doesn't seem to be very innovative. Image
Speaking about the LSDfi projects that are enabling new use cases for liquid staking derivatives, their TVL and fees are in up-only mode.

Lybra Finance is leading in terms of rapid growth, followed by @pendle_fi as seen in the chart below from the @defi_mochi Dune dashboard👇 Image
2️⃣ Omnichain

The daily transfer volume of bridges has grown from less than $20M a few months ago to nearly $150M yesterday🤯

The main beneficiary is Stargate, a composable liquidity transport protocol powered by LayerZero.

LayerZero is an omnichain interoperability protocol. Image
The reason for the increase in the transfer volume might be the rumored LayerZero's airdrop.

Still, LayerZero tech is incredible, and it's already powering many cross-chain applications.

Here's a good thread about the top projects in its ecosystem:
Smart Money Movements🐳

The most widely held token across the top 100 smart money addresses labeled by @ScopeProtocol seems to be $RDNR.

$RDNR (Render Token) has outperformed the market massively in the past months, and it's up 5x since January. Image
In short, @RenderToken is the leading provider of decentralized GPU based rendering solutions.

As $NVDA Stock price is up 170% in 2023, $RDNR has also benefited from this increase.
Moving on, VCs' public wallet addresses have been quiet in the past few weeks.

But overall, most of them seem to be bullish on the LSD narrative.

Some of the largest crypto VCs including Pantera Capital, Dragonfly Capital and Paradigm hold at least a token of a LSD protocol. Image
And that's it!

I hope you found some useful information here.

Investing in early projects during bear markets is how you can make generational wealth📈

Here are 7 of the most innovative upcoming projects you should pay attention to👇 Image
@SeiNetwork

We've seen a new wave of alt-L1s projects emerging during this bear market.

Among all of them, one of them stood out to me:

Sei Network, a L1 blockchain specialized for trading.

Some of the many features that set Sei apart:
• fastest time to finality for transactions (500 ms)

• Frontrunning Protection -Sei aggregates every order together at the end of the block to prevent front-running

• A built-in matching engine -this solves the scaling issues encountered by orderbook DEXs on most blockchains

3 less-known crypto research tools I use for finding hot tokens early🧵 Image
1. @Blockpour

A DeFi data analytics platform.

In this thread, I'll talk about its top 2 features I find the most valuable:

➡️ Token analysis

Using the search function, you can find any token.

The key is to search for a token that had a huge run-up in price in the past 7d.
Let's take a look at $PEPE for example.

Search $PEPE and click on the 'largest trades'.

On the right, you'll see the price at which $PEPE was bought/sold.

After this, you need to go through all transactions & copy the addresses of the traders that bought it at the best price. ImageImage

Mastering pumpamentals will give you a major edge in crypto.

A complete guide to pumpamentals (here's how to find tokens that go up a lot)👇 Image
First of all, what are pumpamentals?

In short, pumpamentals are the factors that can drive a fast increase in the price of a token.

While fundamentals refer to the long-term factors that contribute to a token's value, pumpamentals are important for the short-term price action.
A project can have great fundamentals - but without good pumpamentals, its token will likely underperform

Smart tokenomics, positive news, and social media hype are a few examples of good crypto pumpamentals.

For short-term positions, these are all the factors that matter.

1/48 What's the next big thing for DeFi?

I've researched hundreds of roadmaps over the past few weeks to find out.

A megathread on the top 40 projects with the most exciting roadmaps👇 Image
@LidoFinance

The largest liquid staking protocol.

2 months ago, Lido V2 was introduced, with the primary goal of making Lido more decentralized:

• Staking Router -allows anyone to become a node operator

• Withdrawals-enable stETH holders to withdraw their ETH

ETA: mid May
@vela_exchange

Vela is a perpetual DEX coming to Arbitrum.

The next step on the roadmap is the official launch of the platform, which will come with:

• a one-click trading feature for a CEX-like UX

• an airdrop for beta testers

• support for multiple stablecoins

VCs invested billions of dollars in crypto projects over the past 4 months.

I've researched all their investments so you don't have to.

Here are the top projects that raised insane amounts of money in 2023👇 Image
2023 has been tough so far.

With many of the top crypto VCs such as 3AC and Alameda becoming insolvent, the funding amount raised by crypto projects has declined.

But crisis means opportunity.

So let's break down the most interesting projects by the amount of money raised:
@LayerZero_Labs - $120M

An omnichain interoperability protocol.

Layer Zero enables the creation of cross-chain dApps that are interoperable across all the major chains.

Some of the most notorious crypto VCs including a16z & Sequoia Capital participated in the funding round.

The zkSync ecosystem is primed for huge growth.

Now is your chance to be early.

Here are the most innovative projects with great potential coming to zkSync👇
In <30 days after launch, zkSync Era TVL reached $200M TVL.

zkSync also became the 2d top Ethereum L2 by activity - with even more daily transactions than Optimism!

All of this happened with no incentives programs and less than 20 dApps deployed.
With such strong TVL inflows and activity, I expect the ecosystem to keep flourishing as more dApps are deployed.

Let's break down 6 upcoming protocols that I suggest you add to your watchlist:
