Insisting that 4 asylum seekers share a single room is dangerous & cruel.
If you want to observe hateful cowardly anonymous pig-ignorant shit-stirring far-right troll accounts egged on by Richard Tice & the right-wing press & "news" media, just search for #Pimlico. 🇬🇧
40 asylum seekers staged a protest in Pimlico when they were asked to bunk "four to a room".
Westminster Council leader Adam Hug has written to Braverman demanding to know why the town hall was not informed the vulnerable group of asylum seekers had been moved to Westminster.
"Our teams have been aware of this issue since the early hours of Thursday... & continued to offer whatever support we can. We have been in constant contact with Home Office officials & despite reassurances that the issue has been resolved, that does not appear to be the case.”
In a letter to Suella Braverman, Mr Hug said his council had been “met with minimal, or in this case no communication whatsoever” from the Home Office when asylum seekers were moved into the borough.
He added that the Government risked putting residents and migrants in danger.
“Neither the Home Office nor the hotel itself responded to this incident, ultimately leaving it to council officers to manage and support this large group overnight," Hug wrote.
The refugees included a young child, according to Abdi Hassan, founder of Coffee Afrik, an outreach charity working in east London. They had been moved from a hotel in Ilford, he said.
“Some of them entered [the property], but a group of them didn’t, because they were being asked to share single rooms with four other people. Some of the rooms didn’t have beds or bedding.”
“So I don’t know what they were expecting, them to bunker down in sleeping bags? There was no provision for those that decided to sleep outside the hostel, including a child who’s no older than three."
The @Conservatives are the Party of hate & cruelty - they've fucked Britain.

Members of a 21-person "child sex abuse ring", who subjected seven victims aged under 13 to 'prolonged & sustained' abuse that left them "terribly psychologically damaged", have been jailed for 190 years.
I can't find a single news report referring to them as a "grooming gang".
Using far-right framing, Braverman falsely claimed "the perpetrators are groups of men, almost all British-Pakistani, who hold cultural attitudes completely incompatible with British values. They've been left mostly unchallenged both within their communities & by wider society".
Among the criticism of Braverman is that her comments around grooming gangs, made in a series of press columns & media interviews in April, amounted to "inflammatory & divisive rhetoric that is sensationalist & contradicts her own department's evidence".
In the screenshotted "evidence" from 1993, Charles said global warming "is an issue which we have to address now".
Even a child can see he did NOT say "we have less than ten years to save the planet from global warming", as "Tony Heller" falsely asserts.
Here's Margaret Thatcher in 1989, one of the few senior right-wing free-market-supporting politicians to take the evidence of the link between fossil fuels & climate change seriously. It's ironic that think tanks in her name continue to downplay the risks.

Unbeknown to the authors, a participant in a workshop at KCL examining how to study 4chan & assess their association with the Alt-Right was a 4chan user...
For several years now, there has been escalating concern, across national governments, inter-governmental organisations and think tanks, about the rise of far-right extremism & far-right terrorism globally.
Public authorities, commentators and civil society groups have reported that this rise is being cultivated in online spaces, such as 4chan, 8chan, Telegram and Gab. Despite growing concern, there is still limited academic research examining these spaces.
Today's More or Less on @BBCRadio4 includes a good section on the latest net migration figures, with the kind of important context that partisan politicians, newspapers, columnists, shock jocks & broadcast "news" channels invariably leave out.
'Net migration' is the figure which includes all the people entering Britain who intend to stay for at least twelve months, minus all the people leaving - currently at 606,000 people.
The @Conservatives' manifesto in 2010 was to get net migration down to "tens of thousands".
The 606,000 figure is about twice as high as it was in 2019, before the pandemic. Brexit was in no small part about 'taking back control' of our borders & there are fewer people coming from the EU than in 2019, & a reasonable number from the EU are leaving.
Right now, as the government’s illegal migration bill journeys through parliament, there are children fleeing torture and persecution in Iran and Afghanistan, enforced conscription in Eritrea and gunfire and air strikes in Syria and Sudan.
Heartbreakingly, most will never have known a life without violence and fear. Yet they leave in the hope of finding somewhere they can feel safe. But the UK doesn’t want to offer them sanctuary anymore.
Ever since the long-time Federalist Society leader helped create a conservative supermajority on the Supreme Court, & then received more than a billion dollars to disburse to conservative causes, Leo’s next moves had been the subject of speculation.
Leo declared in a slick video to potential donors, he planned to “crush liberal dominance” across American life. The country was plagued by “woke-ism” in corporations & education, “one-sided journalism” & “entertainment that’s really corrupting our youth.” vimeo.com/806310279?embe…
