im trying to get the story in the kyiv ind. corrected or removed. the reason why is that its full of things that are untrue, and made up facts. PROVABLE .. kyivindependent.com/what-will-it-t…
here is the rebuttal to the story, and why most FACTS that the author lays out are 100% wrong or disinformation. i have nothing personal against the author. i am 100% pro ukr and have given over 200K in goods and money for the war effort.
this fake news undercuts that
the general has been against giving the ukr army M1s and F16s from the start (you can look it up on his twitter page). ALL his arguments are unfounded from ukr troops are not smart enough to they cant turn a wrench as good as iraqi troops (im paraphrasing)
in his most recent post he says that ukr should NOT get M1 but they should get chieftains.. Chieftans were removed from all front line armies about 40 years ago, and there are about 100 in service world wide. in museums
he has been away from the military for a long time, i am only asking that the reccord be corrected en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chieftain…
if you want to help me here is the email for them...
i have already sent a email with my personal phone number to them...
i would just like to talk to them and have the story corrected.. thats it
@IAPonomarenko@KyivIndependent@MarkHertling this is just a few of the issues with your story. 1. the M1 uses any fuel that can burn, not jet fuel.. and the best fuel is diesel. 2. the newer M1 motors are far more reliable than german engines
@IAPonomarenko@KyivIndependent@MarkHertling 3. there are really no more big piles of german or british tanks.. saying give more german tanks means give them no more tanks 4. isis was able to keep 2 tanks running for months without parts 5. iran "borrowed" M1s without parts and kept them running. maintenance is not a issue
@IAPonomarenko@KyivIndependent@MarkHertling 6 when the ukr army gets the tanks they will get enough spare parts to keep the M1s going for months. its not "here are 31 tanks now go", its 31 tanks, 8 M88 recovery vehicles, 10-12 tool / parts trucks full of everything needed to keep the tanks running, extra motors etc..
@IAPonomarenko@KyivIndependent please fix your story. you have been told some old outdated things that you printed.
the truth matters, the fact is that the new M1A1 motor is easier to keep up than a normal diesel motor...
here is MORE proof....
@IAPonomarenko@KyivIndependent some people are using your story to push for fewer tanks to be donated to ukr not more. i am pro ukraine but more pro truth. you have done some great reporting.. here is a chance to fix the one that you had printed that was full of untruth.
@IAPonomarenko@KyivIndependent ukraine has he best tankers in the world right now, they deserve the M1, the best tank in the world... anyone that is asking for more leo2s does not have a grasp on how few operational leo2s there are left in europe for donation. over 15% of the fleet is in parts
ok im going to attack this one then i got work to do.....
so back to combat math.
he is quoting the rule of thumb about the attackers need 3 to 1 advantage over the defender....
thats what is taught to new officers all over the world...and YES i agree with him on that.
BUT then he gets dumb.....
its not the army 3-1, its in the area of the attack.
ukr will be able to muster about 100K in the attack..
along the border in any one area i doubt that ru could muster 50K (more like 20K but i will give them the benefit of the doubt).
ok i had a person ask a question and got me thinking...
so i did some digging as best i could and came up with the combat firepower.
so i did some sleuthing and math
all this is open on the net and unclassified
and incomplete, keep in mind i probably did not count EVRYTHING.
ok so lets get started...
i counted all the named combat brigades i could find.
added in separate battalions into brigades (3 battalions per brigade), MACOMS (major commands could generate at least a brigade with attached recon, scouts, eng, etc)
i excluded fixed units (basses), schools, and units that probably could not move or fight (postal, rail way, etc)
so what did i get?
someone just ask me about the fear that ru is trying to attack the patriot in kyiv now to knock it out.
good let them try.
they were hitting targets all over ukr last month costing ukraine millions a night in smashed electricity and rail.
they were causing some issues with transport and being able to just live....
now they are going after the patriot, we all know where it is now that there have been leaks. and you cant hide something that takes up 4 sq km for long.
so now ru is throwing billions in rockets, missiles, and air time at this one small target. the target that i would bet is the most protected thing in the world right now
