Before Covid, Greenparty Leader Elizabeth May warned Canadian Ministry Departments were prioritizing corporate interests over public interests acting as promoter & regulators of their ministries. Corporate interests govern Canada, especially Big Pharma.
CBC News covered Greg Shaw of the IFA on the differences in the long-term care systems in Canada and Australia which have had a large impact on the number of COVID-19 cases and deaths in both countries. Canada’s record is woeful. ifa.ngo/wise-words/aus…
A “misery index” done by the Macdonald-Laurier Institute suggests that overall well-being in Canada has suffered more than average during Covid 19, ranking 11th out of 15 countries on a scale of miserableness. nationalpost.com/news/canada/ca…
My dad was placed in a retirement home with a hole on the wall and water heater behind drywall. It had bugs, black mould. His walker was soaked with urine. There were blood stains on the couch. Urine on documents in drawers. His toilet didn’t flush. He has since died.
Before Covid we visited and provided him care and supplies and facilities were clean etc. During Covid lockdown we lacked access to his room. We could only visit behind plexiglass wearing all this. We were forbidden from touching his hand.
This private facility was bankrupt when we first arrived. It was like a hotel not long term care. My dad had Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s and they lacked nurses. He had failure to thrive and we brought him to a hospital who discharged him back to this inadequate care.
They failed to cut nails, to shave and take care of personal hygiene and by the time we learned of it he was too far gone. He fell, broke his hip and never recovered. Even at the hospital they tried to make him walk to the toilet even though we were told he would never walk.
The hospital didn’t put diapers on him so my dad soiled his clothing everyday. The nurses put the fully soiled garments in a plastic bag and gave it to my 87 year old mother to wash. I found that out because I drove her to the visit. Only one person could see him a day.
I washed those garments for my mother by hand and machine because she never deserved that treatment from anybody. She loved my dad. They were married over 60 years. He was dying and they treated my parents like that. The lack of respect, dignity and basic common sense was sick.
The name of the facility is Applefest Lodge in Brighton. I called police to report unsafe work and residential units and I secured the police report proving they never even visited the room in spite of my plea. To this day I still worry for the other residents left there.
A class action has been launched on behalf of the residents of 96 long-term care homes in Ontario that experienced devastating COVID-19 related outbreaks and their family members and estates. rochongenova.com/current-class-…
Another class action is about Bill 7, a new Ontario law that allows hospitals to fine discharged patients $400 a day if they do not move into a nursing home not of their choosing. It violates Charter of Rights and Freedoms. cbc.ca/news/canada/to…
At the hospital we asked for a Roman Catholic Priest for last rights. They sent us an Anglican Minister. It violates Canon Law for Catholics to do Anglican sacraments. My family all knew that yet my dad was dying. Like vinegar on Christ’s lips we just took what God handed us.
My family were so broken by all the abuse and disregard given. We didn’t do a funeral or gathering. We’re all still healing. In the last 2 years I’ve lost 7 family members including my dad and father in law. Some died of complications from Covid. Canada needs to do better.
Premier Ford neglected our seniors and wanted to privatize hospitals and long term care. This is one of the many issues people marched for today all across Ontario. #EnoughIsEnoughON#EnoughIsEnough
I have spoken with politicians, wrote years of reports, met with chiefs and pipekeepers and went to NEB, Supreme Court hearings defending water. This was years before I ever heard of Darryl Leroux. I have a duty to protect. My family are Indigenous people.
We have a history that predated Canada by 240 years. We have always been mixed Mi’kmaw and Acadian because Charles Robin controlled us and made sure of that. This is me in my father’s arms. Me with my sisters. My grandparents and uncles in the photos here.
This woman came to Waterloo and lied about Acadians taking over Mi’kmaw fishing areas. My Acadian folks never violated fishing rules. We had a time and place to fish and a way that predated Canada to keep stocks sustainable. I was kettled and assaulted at this event.
Dr. Williams (1643-1711), rich by marriages & inheritances funded the 2000 year old trust fund for the New England Company & Harvard. David Johnston was the only non-American citizen to chair the Harvard Board of Overseers. churchside1.plus.com/Goldhanger-pas…
Canada serves British Empire and it’s Supremacy of God Clause still binds it to a British Monarchy system. The Roman Catholic Episcopal company owned churches & schools that abused people. The New England Company and Harvard were both creatures of British Empire.
I would like to know what kind of fine particulate matter I have on my roof and car. Video of my roof is here. This is the view in Waterloo Ontario.
This is the particulate matter I see on my car in Waterloo Ontario.
This is the view of my rhubarb with fine particulate matter on it. By the way, I live in the North West Corner of the city adjacent to a large forested area. The winds blow West to East. This isn’t the most polluted part of town yet I see this fine particulate matter.
@JustinTrudeau you are not helping the people of Canada here. Step aside on the issue or step down. The door has been left wide open for corruption on your watch. cbc.ca/news/politics/…
We needed election reform. We needed disclosure of beneficiaries. We needed wealth tax and inheritance tax on the rich and we need to speak truth on Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell’s links to Canada. We need to leave this abusive British monarchy and advance true democracy.
We need to speak truth that the Tories, KKK and Orange Masons and COR were all anti Francophones who targeted Acadians. We need apologies given and truth to history. We need the King Solomon Lodge in Digby to apologuse or close. No more hate groups. Name and shame.
This is the algae distribution around the existing Nuclear plants along Lake Ontario. It is aggravated by nitrates, phosphates, sewage effluent, farm fertilizers and runoff and other upstream activities.
In Ontario we already have spent over $65 million on issues of zebra mussels impacting our nuclear plants. They cover the cooling system if untreated. The solvents to control the mussels creates algae issues that results in expensive shut downs too. It clogs the intakes.
