One of the cool studies I talk about is particle emission from carpets and respiration by infants crawling across the floor...it's a real thing...s/o to Wu & Boor from Purdue
I also tall about the use of PET scans to observe the brain's response to skin heating and cooling...both critical in thermal comfort design.
...and no study is complete without understanding its history...here two labs Kansas State and DTU...both played critical roles in our understanding of humans and their environments.
...and for me personally is studying what dead people taught us a long time ago...dead people knew stuff...stuff that we seem to have forgotten...
...and while governments and academia are trying to solve energy issues it is important to never forget this:
....discomfort in all of our sensory systems:

1/n Because public health is so incompetent here are my thoughts if you're at home surrounded by wildfire smoke.
A. If you have the wherewithal - prepare your home for vacation & leave until its safe to come back. Arrange to meet your home owners insurance requirements.
B. If you can't leave, prevent outdoor air from entering your home; close windows, doors, and shut down any mechanical systems connected to the outdoors.
C. If there is an outdoor air duct connected to your air systems (furnace, a/c, HRV/ERV, central vac etc) block them...take pictures to remind yourself what you have done...so you can undo when its safe.
Risk: I've long ago used up my nine lives...ask my friends and family for the stories...but the most difficult of all was surviving respiratory failure...fear is not the problem...pain is...trust me...you don't want to be in a ICU hooked up to the Borg.
Notes from ICU...while intubated & conscious I wasn't able to communicate except through pen...I wrote these without sight due to HA eye infection...thus the scribble...this is for the tough talking covid risk adverse people that have no clue about ICU...look close...
Perspective: I was acutely aware of every tube connecting me to life support...worst - the intubation tube balanced on my tounge at the back of my throat...it took all my will power to manage that experience...
I hope this isn't a consolation prize...@DrMikeRyan@DrTedros if you don't come clean at this point you're done... you'll never ever have respect from a worldwide community of scientists and engineers - NONE. #COVIDIsAirborne always has been!
a post rebuild for .@CPHO_Canada for the love of humanity step in and declare repeatedly on national media to #Canadians, the healthcare systems & its workers, educators, administrators, parents etc. that #COVIDIsAirborne AIR HYGIENE must become the focus
